Aun así las hacía, porque de alguna forma lo distraía de su deprimente realidad: sin Nen, sin metas, sin Killua, sin nada mejor que hacer.
Hacía cualquier cosa que lo mantuviera ocupado para no pensar, para no llegar a la misma conclusión, extrañando a la misma persona y lamentándose por su ausencia.

Shaken by his time as a Remnant of Despair as well as the Jabberwock Island killing game, Gundham is sent home to stay with his mother for a while and fulfill his community service requirements at his animal sanctuary. However, once he, Kazuichi, and Sonia get there, they discover exactly how much it's changed since the Tragedy.
(Took minor liberties with canon, so sorry about that. Some flashbacks to the Tragedy have a UDG vibe because your boy just finished watching a playthrough of that game and absolutely digs it)

"I don’t want this to sound weird but," he trailed off as if he was unsure with his phrasing or if it would make sense. Then, with a sure finality he looked straight into Gon’s eyes, blue eyes piercing his, and asked, "who the hell are you?"
What was Gon supposed to say to that? Maybe he was worse at pretending to be his younger self than he thought.
(Or: One wish sends Gon's life back into a frenzy, giving him the chance to figure out how to prevent Killua from being murdered. As he flip flops between the past and the present, it becomes evidently clear that Killua's death wasn't so black and white.)
