Arthur hears of the Écrevisse, a cave that shows both a man’s greatest fear and deepest desire. To prove himself, he goes alone. Without Merlin. Yet the cave brings Merlin to him, as Arthur’s fears and desires become one.

The thing about living in a place like Camelot was that almost all of the people there lived lives completely devoid of magic. When Merlin was actually channelling his power in a place so empty of it, every tiny bit of magic around came alive to him. So when Dragoon touched the prone body of Uther Pendragon, he pulled away almost immediately.
Because there was already magic at work upon the King of Camelot.

This fic began as a re-write of the confrontation scene in S2 E1 between Merlin and Cedric, with the detail that Arthur was conscious (debatable) and overheard their entire conversation. What better way is there to find out your best friend is a sorcerer?
Following chapters expand on the episodes after that, and how things might be a bit different if Arthur discovered Merlin's magic, without Merlin knowing.

Or: Merlin and Arthur accidentally swap bodies. This would be a great opportunity for Merlin to relish in making Arthur muck out the stables, if the prat hadn't also gotten Merlin's magic in the exchange.

Summary

Arthur, annoyed, follows Merlin through a forest to see him preforming magic. An entire friendship (or more) crumbles within him. Was it all a lie?
TLDR: Merlin is not careful enough when visiting a druid camp VS Arthur finally decides to follow Merlin on his little escapades and learns more about his manservant than he would have liked.

Arthur caught his sorcerer’s eye again. “If Emrys did have a simple, human identity, you wouldn’t have any suspicion who it could be, at all?”
“I wouldn't, I’m afraid.” Merlin shrugged one shoulder, seeming somewhat defeated. “I’ll look into it.”
Once, years ago, Arthur had been sure he could tell when Merlin was lying through his teeth. How frustrating it was to know that couldn’t be further from the truth.Or: In a fixed-it post-canon, word begins to get out about the godlike sorcerer Emrys who will aid the Once and Future King to unite all of Albion. This, of course, results in all the leaders of Albion beginning their attempts to win the elusive Emrys’ favor, in order to be chosen as his prophesied King.
Even as his Court Sorcerer, Merlin lives to antagonize Arthur and decides to inform the world -as Emrys- that he has already chosen his King, in a... less-than-conventional way.(Can be read standalone from the series.)

Summary
The Sirius Black that Remus had loved was dead. He died in the possession of his family sometime over the summer, leaving little more than the other's body and fragments of his damaged soul as scraps for Remus and the Potters to care for. He was more marionette than boy, an automaton at most: He could move and do simple tricks like people could, but the movements weren't natural and there was often a hollow look behind his eyes- when not tasked with something and left unsupported, he was prone to collapse and difficult to repair.
While this Sirius would never be the same, Remus still loved the poor, broken imitation he had. It hurt to love Sirius, but Remus was accustomed to pain.
With the end of summer fast approaching and Sirius's progress remaining slow, Remus can't help but worry about Sirius's future. With more questions than answers, will Remus and the Potters be able to improve Sirius's condition enough to allow him to attend his final year at Hogwarts, or will his fate be left to the discretion of the doctors at St. Mungo's?

Summary
Arthur is captured while scouting Cenred's territory and thrown into a dungeon cell. He's not alone—his cellmate is Merlin, a mysterious prisoner who somehow recognizes Arthur as royalty despite his disguise, and who tries to keep spirits light even as he's dragged away daily by guards.
Arthur quickly realizes something is terribly wrong. Merlin is dying, slowly drained by strange manacles and Cenred's hunger for magic. Over days and weeks, Arthur watches helplessly as the cycle repeats: recovery, torture, deterioration. He falls for the strange, brilliant boy who jokes through agony and shields Arthur from darkness.

Merlin hisses as the harsh metal digs into his wrists. There are rumours that The Mighty Emrys, emphasis on the capital letters, wouldn’t bend to cold iron’s will…and yet. It’s hard to believe such innocent looking metal – or innocent as chains can be – could be the cause of such immutable pain. Don’t get him wrong, Merlin has been through his fair share of injuries and attempts on his life (some more successful than others, thank you immortality) but this? This is unlike anything he’s felt before.
[Merlin's magic is revealed after yet another bandit attack. Arthur doesn't react well. And as it turns out, cold iron is bad, folks! Way angstier than I expected this idea to be. Would you believe me if I said I just want everyone to be happy? No? Okay.]
