Two years pass by, and the impossible happens. There is a home for Beth and the others in Hawkins. Not one they were born into, but one built from the most improbable of materials: shared grief, fierce friendships, unexpected losses and resilient hopes, and most importantly, an obstinate desire to move forward. None of them are naive, though. They know their hard-won peace is fragile, and they are living through the calm before the next storm.

The Party learns the passage into adulthood may be more troublesome than end-of-world-level threats. Billy Hargrove crosses paths with a harbinger ready to judge him for his sins, and in the process, he must face his abyss before there's any hope for his redemption. Elizabeth Stirling learns that a soldier needs to look back to remember what they're moving forward for.
And they'll all understand that there's always a bigger threat to worry about.
