“Can you take us to a late showing of —"
Steve bites his lip, sighing and preparing for inevitable backlash, “I can't, I'm babysitting."
“What!?” Dustin screeches, “How!? You’re not with any Party members?”
“Yeah I’m babysitting other kids.” Steve sighs, looking back at Beth and Annie bickering over one of their teddy bear guests.
“Other kids?! Kids that aren’t us? You’re cheating on us?”
Steve rubs at his temples, “It’s not like I have a secret family Henderson! Calm down.”
“You may as well have!” Dustin retorts something like hurt colouring his tone.
OR How Steve finds a purpose and a family one smartass kid at a time.

Summary
“How long do you have?” he asks, staring intently into Eddie's big, dark eyes. Eddie looks at him for a long while.
“Got nothin’ but time,” he eventually says, and Steve notes that his voice has a sort of gentle lilt when he speaks softly, something sweet and southern running through it. “Rich in that at least.”
And so Steve sits down on the ground in the dirt. The air's hot and sticky, and by the time he stops talking, he isn't sure he's ever been that parched, not ever. He talks and talks. He doesn't stop for a long while.
Eddie Munson listens quietly.---
The battle at Starcourt might have culminated in the end of the upside down back in '85, but Steve is still plagued by nightmares. Years later, he's the last one left in Hawkins - content to stay there, safe and alone and fading into nothing as the summer heat peaks again.
A three am rendezvous at Sattler quarry changes that. -

What happens when an Alpha decides it’s safer to erase himself than risk being wrong?
Steve Harrington had spent years on suppressants, convinced he was a failed Alpha after Nancy left him for Omega Jonathan Byers. Dustin Henderson—a Latent who hadn't presented yet past sixteen—realized Steve was self-destructing when he discovered his best friend in Alpha drop.
This is the story where they discover that being each other's person has nothing to do with designation stereotypes and everything to do with choice.
(Title taken from the song: Owner Of A Lonely Heart by Yes.)
TW : A/B/O dynamics, addiction and self-worth issues, period‑typical homophobia and disability (Max is blind). Some themes are heavy and take time to unfold.
This is ultimately a happily‑ever‑after story, and consensual, age‑appropriate porn with feelings appears later. -

Summary
Steve Harrington has always been different.
He was raised to be polite, observant, and useful. Steve learned how to smile, how to listen, how to blend in, how to use his abilities without ever letting anyone see.
When strange things suddenly occur in Hawkins Steve already recognizes the signs.
---Or a retelling of ST if Steve was a lab experiment.

Summary
He tucks Steve back under clean sheets. Steve’s still murmuring to Tommy, whispering things that are supposed to sound soothing but only send chills down Dustin’s spine. He’s fading fast.
He’s a pale figure in a pale bed.
“I promise I’m not going to run a soul pawnshop,” Dustin says out loud.
He’s not.
“Since when do you believe in fate?” Steve asks quietly.

Summary
Steve Harrington develops Hanahaki sometime between 1983 and 1984.
At first it looks harmless enough: petals, blood, tight lungs and symptoms easy to dismiss. Then the years keep happening. Nancy leaves. The Russians happen. Jonathan leaves. Vecna happens. The world almost ends.
Years of things left unsaid, endings that never stayed ended, and the slow realization that surviving has less to do with being saved and more to do with letting yourself stay. -

His hands rake his hair. His eyes sting, and his head pounds mercilessly with that familiar pressure. He just needs to breathe.
It hurts, but it’s okay. If Henderson needs someone to blame, he can be that person. He’s good at that, has done it before, knows how. Hell, he’ll be whatever his kid needs him to be, so long as his kid still needs him. So long as Henderson stays.

Summary
“Name?”
The nurse looks at him, green eyes equal parts kind and discerning.
“Steve,” he replies quickly, before he can second guess himself. He’s hoping against all hope that this nurse won’t know him on sight—and won’t know Eddie, either. A flash of the haunted look in Eddie’s brown eyes, the memory of the broken bottle against his neck, dispels any lingering doubts about Steve’s decision to lie.
“His name is Steve Harrington.”Or, a post-s4 finale, whumpy tale, where Eddie lives, Steve tells a lie, and the Party discovers there’s more to their favorite babysitter than they previously thought. Oh, and Steve and Eddie totally have a crush on one another. (We'll get there.)
Slowburn Steddie, an excuse to hurt Steve (not sorry), his dad is a POS in this, heed the tags! -

Summary
The first documented case of a Blessed was in 64 AD. Amongst the fire and chaos of Nero's burning of Rome, chroniclers of the event would later pen eye witness testimony of a lone woman heralding people to safety. They said that she pushed back the flames with her mind, opened a tunnel to lead them away from the destruction and pulled a small boy from a collapsing wall half a mile away from where he had been standing.

Steve Harrington is a good babysitter, so the author made that his superpower.

Summary
Steve Harrington learned to play piano when he was young, home alone while his parents were God knows where. He stopped when the Upside Down came into his life, rearing its ugly head.
But the Upside Down is over, now, and Steve is learning that he's allowed to feel safe again. And in that journey, he goes back to piano, and eventually learns to share it with his new family.
(Or: Eddie Munson being and aggressively supportive boyfriend who kind of forces Steve out of his comfort zone, but it's okay, because it ends well and Steve wasn't really all too upset about it anyway)

What if I rewrite the entire series of Stranger Things?

Summary
Steve had always known the church as a place of quiet, of routine, of certainty, of answers that came neatly packaged in prayer.
But that changed the moment Eddie Munson walked back through its doors.
Now, every glance lingers too long. Every word feels heavier than it should. The space between them hums with something dangerous.
Eddie doesn’t look at the altar the way everyone else does. He looks at the stained glass, at the stories of saints and sinners, of exile and devotion and somehow, he makes them feel personal. Like they were always meant to be about them.
About love that isn’t allowed.
About wanting something you’ve been told you shouldn’t.
And when Eddie speaks it feels less like temptation… and more like truth.
Because maybe redemption isn’t found in denying what you feel.
Maybe it’s found in choosing it anyway.
