Summary
A lone author and diehard Dirk fan plumbs the depths of Meat Dirk’s ultimate soul and its several unfortunate entanglements in an effort to make Homestuck: Beyond Canon’s self-professed villain a more explicitly sympathetic character. Will Dirk willingly submit to a much-needed and well-deserved character resuscitation, or will this new author’s invasive mental methods and underhanded narrative influence only antagonize him? Along the way, will Rose and Terezi become entrenched in the character-study-cum-therapy-session-cum-psychological-warfare, or can Dirk and the author keep their emotionally and ontologically complicated interactions to themselves?
(Please note that only chapters 3, 4, and 5 feature explicit sex scenes; despite the large number of relationship and sex-related tags, this isn't a smutfic, it's just a fic with some smut in it).

Candy!Dirk—sent spiraling by the existential catastrophe of his continuity's divergence from canon—is visited by Gamzee, triggering a plunge through the memories of his ultimate self that culminates in his decision to commit suicide.
A fic that explores the ultimate self, touches on the unseen time between Dirk quitting as Jane's presidential campaign advisor and hanging himself from the bell tower, and answers the age-old question: what the fuck was Gamzee doing at Dirk's place when Dave discovered his suicide note? Seriously, what was he doing there? I think about this all the time. Also serves as a prologue to 'I'm Barely a Person Anymore (I'm Just a Collection of Memories That Aren't My Own),' a little Ultimate Dirk-centric series I'm working on.
