The vision of it was enough to make Lyra breathe a laugh. "Yeah, a little different than that, I suppose. Sorry to disappoint."
There was a heavy moment of stillness between them, where even the raucous crowd inside the saloon settled into a brief placid lull.

Okay, Sam thought. He had been prepared for this. He knew there was absolutely no way Sebastian would immediately agree to join a band with him.
"It would be good for you! You always complain about your mom or Demetrius constantly telling you to get out of the house and do something! And we could actually hang out!"
Sebastian rolls his eyes with a huff. "We hang out all the time. You're literally in my bedroom right now, sitting on my bed, watching a movie, hanging out."
Fuck, okay, he has him there.
