Nyx is great at exploring creepy basements. It's basically their job! They are a bit less great at dealing with dead bodies in basements, but even that would be preferable to finding a still-living one that smells like an alpha and doesn't look exactly...human. Anymore.

Summary
Jem wasn't, precisely, innocent.
He'd done more or less what he'd been accused of. He'd certainly taken vows, been a brother in the eyes of their mangled, haphazard laws. As far as he could tell, from a carefully reading of the contradictory texts, treasonous intent didn't have any effect on your vows. It made sense, theologically if not strategically, that the militia's justice would concur.

In another universe, a much darker version of Batman has been holding Superman captive for a year.
In this one, Bruce was only planning to neutralize an interdimensional threat. He didn’t plan on a rescue mission. He didn’t plan to take home a hurt, broken captive who may or may not be a version of the Clark Kent he knows. But now that he has, he needs to figure out what to do with him without putting the whole planet at risk.
It takes Clark a while to realize he hasn’t just traded one abuser for another, more dangerous one.
