And I don't even think I explained why, even. Well, simply put, Caine got deleted, in-canon... but here he didn't. He got _almost_ deleted. Files that are partially deleted... they're just corrupt, are they not? So, yeah. I also kinda wanted to emphasize how that changes not only him, but everyone else.
