Sunday bit down hard on his bottom lip, until the taste of blood flooded his mouth. He chewed on the tender flesh, and for a moment the pain cleared his mind. But then twin pressure points flared on the sides of his jaw, forcing him to release his lip. A second later, something was shoved into his mouth. He tasted leather and he couldn’t bite down on his lips or the inner side of his cheeks anymore.
He tried to slam his head against what was behind him next, but he was only met with a soft thud. The surface was firm, but too cushioned to crack his skull open. The same hand from before returned to grip his jaw, holding his head in place. A low, stern voice whispered in his ear, sending a chill down his spine.
“That’s about enough, Mr. Sunday.”
