“Let me worry about my own mother,” Jiang Cheng snaps back. “If you’re so anxious to get me out the door, I’m happy to oblige. Just tell me what the Lans have on you so that I can fix it.”
Wei Ying has shifted slightly out of Lan Zhan’s line of sight again. But Lan Zhan can imagine the face he’s making from the sound of his voice.
“Uh,” Wei Ying says. “What?”
