Background:Oracle, aka Madelyn Carroll, aka Maddelena Carosini, was abandoned by her parents and raised by Vought after a Compound-V injection robbed her of her sight. In the late 1970s, she joined Payback as the clairvoyant ice-queen called Oracle.
Oracle and Soldier Boy's love story - if you can even call it that - is far from straightforward. It's fraught with decades of constant evasion, toxic behavior, corporate manipulation, mutual betrayal, and a bit of self-loathing peppered in for good measure.
But when all that is stripped away, does something real lie beneath?

The recent Cannibal killings have been plaguing Raccoon City since April of 1998. Addison Frost, a recent graduate of Raccoon College, ignored the first murder. Still, when the bodies of nine and seven-year-old Becky and Priscilla McGee were found mutilated beyond recognition, it caught the attention of not only Addison but the rest of the city. At that time, Addison knew this wasn't a normal open-and-shut case. Going against everyone's warnings to leave it be, Addison couldn't shake the feeling there was more going on. Something.... sinister. But, her meddling has caught the attention of some powerful and dangerous people. Will she get to the bottom of this case before it's too late? Or will her meddling uncover something she would rather not have known?
