Chapter Text
The whole ceremony is a big blur for Jimin.
The minister is speaking, but his words don’t seem to reach Jimin’s brain.
It’s a good thing his mother made him rehearse his answers endlessly.
He subconsciously repeats his vows when he’s supposed to.
Says “I do” when it’s expected of him.
His face a pretty mask, giving nothing away.
Inside, he’s screaming.
He feels sick, his stomach in knots.
His head hurts.
His hands are sweating.
His heartbeat is so fast.
He’s scared out of his mind.
He looks at his future mate. His husband to be.
A young, strong Alpha. His face unfairly handsome.
He’s tall.
Broad shoulders. Slim waist. Long legs. Glowing skin. Full lips.
He’s a Kim.
The youngest son of one of the most powerful families in the district.
Known for their traditional views, and strong family values.
Owners of a multi-million dollar family company.
A catch, no doubt, just by social status alone.
Jimin is terrified of him.
He doesn’t know this man.
Hasn’t exchanged more than a few polite pleasantries with him.
Yet his parents are more than thrilled to marry him off to this Alpha.
Seokjin.
In his heart, he knows his mother and father see this as a chance at a better life for their Omega son.
Plus, it will enhance his family’s position within the community significantly.
He can’t fault them for doing what they think is best.
Yet, Jimin can’t help but feel like a sacrificial lamb.
Or perhaps more like cattle.
Being sold without a thought, when offered the right price, he had noted before, bitterly.
“And so, by the power invested in me, I hereby declare that the Alpha Kim Seokjin, and the Omega Park Jimin, are married by law, with their loved ones as their witness. May the Goddess bless your marriage. Hurrah!”
The minister’s passionate yell, forces Jimin to become present in the here and now. He flinches slightly when the wedding guests echo with their own “Hurrah!”.
Seokjin moves towards him slightly, still holding his hand.
Jimin stiffens.
He knows this is the part of the ceremony where couples sometimes kiss.
But instead, the elder bows, touching his nose lightly to the back of Jimin’s hand.
Respectful.
When he straightens, he looks into Jimin’s eyes for a moment.
Expression unreadable.
He doesn’t let go of the Omega’s hand.
Instead, he gently helps him down the steps, and they walk back down the aisle.
They head to the main hall, where the festivities will take place.
The wedding guests join them, and the couple cut the cake together.
Jimin tries not to show his uneasiness about standing so close to the Alpha.
His husband.
It is customary that the newlyweds taste the first piece together.
Seokjin plates the piece of cake with an elegant ease.
Jimin is glad, his own hands way too shaky.
His husband takes off a small piece with a fork, offering it to Jimin.
Seokjin’s smile is surprisingly gentle, as Jimin quickly takes the bite, his cheeks red.
“Do you like chocolate cake? It’s my favourite.” He asks Jimin, his smile widening a little when the Omega nods at him.
“It’s good.” He replies.
Seokjin proceeds to take off a huge piece, and shove it in his mouth, winking at Jimin.
everyone laughs, except for the Alpha’s mother, who scolds him light-heartedly.
And except Jimin, who only manages a small smile.
He takes a sip of his champagne, hoping no one will notice that the smile doesn’t reach his eyes.
The crystal champagne flute wobbles dangerously in Jimin’s shaking hand, the bubbling liquid sloshing around inside it.
Seokjin takes it out of his hand, inconspicuously, placing it safely back on the table.
Jimin glances at him nervously, but the Alpha doesn’t seem angered.
If anything, there seems to be an unspoken understanding in his eyes.
The Omega doesn’t dare to read into it.
