Deceptive Desire

Summary:

Renowned BSAA agent, you find yourself face to face with your most perilous mission of all; infiltrate the Uroboros project and take it down, for the sake of all of humanity.

Too bad Albert Wesker - the mastermind behind it all - has other plans for you.

You'll never be the same.

Notes:

Hello all my little lovely Wesker simps! WELCOME IN. It's an exciting day. I've been working on this story for the last week, and I'm dumping the first THREE chapters here for you to ~screen~ me. DO YOU ACCEPT ME? DO YOU LIKE IT? THAT'S THE QUESTION. Because if you do, you're in for a really fun and WIIIILD ride with what I've got in store for you. If you love it (or even if you hate it), I'm ALWAYS open to say hi to on discord. Have thoughts? Comments? THINGS TO SIMP ABOUT? Do you also love Wesker in DBD? Come at me!

Musical note:

I'm a very musical writer, so I'll throw in some song suggestions now and again that really call out to me. Since this is the first chapter, I want to set the tone for you - so here's the theme for the entire story as a whole. These lyrics hit HARD.

Chapter Text

Some days you woke up, and everything felt the same. It was just another day, the same old same old, and you’d get up out of bed, stumble to your perpetually messy dresser and put on clothes that you definitely already wore twice that week. Somehow, you’d find your way out of your house, your hair half brushed and teeth just barely cleaned, a breakfast sandwich crumbling in your hand, and you’d make it to the BSAA office just in time for the start of your shift.

Today was not that day.

Today was a very different day.

A day that was easily going to change your life forever.

A day you’d been planning for the last ten months. One you’d pulled countless all nighters for, one you’d given your blood, sweat and tears for.

It was a day that could end up killing you in the end, but that was the risk you took for these kinds of missions.

You were starting your first day as an official Tricell scientist, a job that had taken months of screening, months of preparation to even be considered for.

Not only were you going to be a lead researcher of Tricell, you were going to be one of the leads on the Uroboros Project.

And not only that, the real secret about it all was that you were undercover for the BSAA. It was one of the biggest asks they’d ever given of one of their team, and you had been the chosen one. You had to make everyone proud. You’d be going in completely alone, with no contact to anyone outside the facility. You had to succeed in gathering enough information about the Uroboros Project to take it down.

Specifically, to take down the leader of it; to destroy him once and for all, before he could infect the entire world with his infamous virus.

“Wesker, I’m coming for you,” you whispered as you stepped up to the gates of the Tricell facility, your new badge in hand. The building loomed above you, cold and unwelcoming, yet…something in there called to you. Something or…someone.

If only you knew what you were walking into…maybe you would have turned around right then and there. But you didn’t turn around.

No, you took that next step forward, the one that was going to change everything.

Badge and paperwork, please?” A sour looking receptionist demanded the moment you stepped in the front door after passing through what had to have been five different checkpoints. You weren’t even up to the desk yet - could she chill?

You silently scan your badge and shove your new hire paperwork and security information over the desk towards her, which she grabs - greedily, you might add - and looks over.

You’re the new lead researcher?” She studies you with her mousy eyes, clearly judging you - hard.

“Got a problem with that?” you shoot back at her, biting back another snide comment. This day needed to start out correctly, not with a fight. Hold it together, you think to yourself. She’s just some stupid receptionist.

“Did they explain the fine print about this position? It’s why they could never fill it until now. Wesker is an absolute asshole. Everyone who ever tried to be in this job got - let’s just say, things happened.” She paused a moment, a dark smile crossing her face, something taunting about it.

“Yeah, thanks for that info,” you say with a roll of your eyes, grabbing your badge from the scanner and passing through the turnstiles. You really didn’t need to know anything more.

“We’ll see how it goes for you, hunny!” The girl calls out to you with a snort, and all you do is hold up your middle finger at her on your way to the elevator.

Once you’re inside the elevator and alone again, you let out a shaky breath. You knew the risks of taking this position, but the reason you took it was because you were said to work closely with Wesker. That’s exactly what you needed to do - gain his trust, get information from him, and then take him down. It sounded easy when you put it in steps like that in your head, but the reality of it was that it would be one of the hardest things you’d ever do in your life.

And not for the obvious reasons.

You realize you haven’t hit a floor button, the elevator sitting stagnant on the first floor. Your badge rests on a laniard around your neck, displaying your importance, and giving you access to all the restricted areas of the building.

Your eyes land on the buttons of the elevator, moving from bottom to top, to one button in specific. The one labeled U. The one that towered above all the rest.

You press that button and then scan your badge, feeling the elevator shift below you and begin to lift you up, up, up, barreling you towards a fate you never expected.

When the ding of the elevator warned you of its imminent arrival to the Uroboros floor, you couldn’t stop the way your heart rose to your throat, a thin line of sweat breaking out on your upper lip.

But you shook it off. You weren’t allowed to get nervous. Wesker would smell fear on you like a vampire smelled fresh blood. Learning to mask your fear and put on a facade of pure confidence was of the utmost importance from this moment on.

Any confidence you’d started to build in those last seconds to yourself in the elevator were shattered into a billion different pieces as the doors opened and you were met by a wall of black leather, his trench coat just barely sweeping the floor around him. His slicked back blonde hair was perfect in every way, not  a single strand out of place. He lifted a gloved hand to his face, slipping his shades down just far enough for you to get a brief glimpse at his fiery amber eyes, which glowed as they met your own.

“Welcome to the Uroboros project,” Wesker purred, and you felt every word sink deep into your soul.

Yeah. This really was going to be so much harder than you ever imagined.
