Chapter Text
*Jaehyun POV*
He has walked up and down this street for at least 6 times the past few days,just looking at one house.This is the kind of neighborhood that anyone would be found suspicious of they walked consistently the way he has been but lucky for him,he is good at staying in the shadows.Tonight will be the night he does his job and never be around this part of the City again.
When he gets back to his very expensive Apartment,Jaehyun looks at the pictures he took of the house.He sees his point of Entry which is the long ass floor to Ceiling glass window this motherfucker has as his bedroom window,He was stupid really Because it made easy for people like Jaehyun to access his house.
He gets into his black Cargo pants,Black T-shirt,black hoodie and a black leather jacket on top.He wears a black cap and put the hat of the hoodie on top.Jaehyun grabs his black satchel,Black gloves and rides his motorclye toward the quiet side of the high class housing.When Jaehyun is at least a block away from the place,he finds a parking spot and texts the only other person he works with.
J: Now.
H: Roger that.
By the time he gets to the gate,the alarm system of the place is off and the electric gate is open.Jaehyun gets in and head to the window.He takes out his dart gun and opens the window.Since the whole house was run by technology he didn't even need to do shit.
When he gets inside the bastard he is here to kill doesn't even move,he is dead asleep and will be literally dead soon.Jaehyun points his dart gun at him and shoots.He locks the man's bedroom door from the inside.
He Puts a chair in the middle of the room and ties the idiot to it and stuff a cloth into his mouth.He tapes it shut with duct tape and waits for him to wake up,the drug he uses only lasts for 2 minutes which is the time he always need to tie them up.
After two minutes,like clockwork,His victim of the day wakes up and his eyes go wide upon seeing Jaehyun sitting on his bed and the situation he's in.Jaehyun holds up some photos,the reason why he's there.This man had opened up a Youth Center for Young Boys and instead of actually helping them,he used the center as a front while the boys were actually used as his errand boys for selling drugs.
The man tries to talk or plea or whatever but the reason why Jaehyun always covers up their mouths while their unconscious is because he never wants to hear any of that shit.The man actually pees his pants.Jaehyun gets up,takes out his camera and take some few snaps.He makes sure his silencer is in place before aiming his gun,right on the middle of the forehead of that guy.
The guy cries and tries to beg Jaehyun all puppy eyed but upon seeing the emptiness and coldness in Jaehyun's eyes,He stops and accepts his Fate and when he does,Jaehyun pulls the trigger,it goes right through.A clean kill.He takes some few more snaps,opens the bedroom door and exits the way he came.
J:Done.
H:Cool.
He's sure the Alarm System is back in place.The police won't find any evidence,Finger Prints or anything.All they will know is that the guy was murdered and since he left the photos behind they will also know the Motive but they will never be able to find or know it was Jaehyun.
*Taeyong POV*
Ever since that night three years ago when he had woken up with a gun pointed at him,Taeyong developed a sleeping disorder.It is traumatizing for him to even consider sleeping at night.It is good that his job helps too.Taeyong is a published Writer so he writes during the night and sleeps during the day.He feels more safer that way.
His roommate and friend was understanding too.Johnny is an editor with his own publishing company were he is a co-owner and that's how him and Taeyong had met.
"I don't care when you sleep Taeyong,I care that you continue to write." Johnny had once said when Taeyong had tried to explain.He didn't tell Johnny the whole truth though,only that inspiration only came at night for him.
Don't get him wrong though,he didn't sleep the whole day.It's not like he never sees the Sun,he does but mostly never the the sunrise.He always sleeps from 6 am until at least 3pm in the afternoon then he goes out until it's time to write and sometimes before writing he naps a little on the couch when Johnny prepares dinner for them.
Taeyong wrote Thriller/Crime Novels that were best selling ever since he started wiritng them but little did people know they were based off of mostly true events.Taeyong remembers his face,if he were to see that person who wanted to kill him again he'd remember because memories of that were so vivid.
He had so many things he wanted to ask that guy, the most important question being,Why did he spare him?.Taeyong wanted to know that the most.He didn't know what he had done but he was sure it was something otherwise someone wouldn't have wanted him dead.He wants to know the answer to that question too,like what did he do.
As far as he could remember back then he was still a struggling artist,going from every publishing house begging them to read his work but with no luck.He never bothered anyone then but still someone had wanted him dead.

"What are you doing now?" Johnny asks him standing by the door to their study room.When they got the apartment Johnny and Him turned one room into a library/office for Johnny and library/writing space for him.
"I'm thinking of deleting the whole chapter 53 I wrote last night and starting over." Taeyong answers and adjusts his glasses on his nose.
"Why?" Johnny questions,merely curious.
"Because I'm not satisfied.This is not what I want on the Chapter that's two chapters away from the end." Taeyong explains.
"Well I trust you." Johnny says.He's been most excited about his book because he feels it will the best of them all since he already began on the editing process.
"Anyway Goodnight." Taeyong says.He can see Johnny yawning already.
"Goodnight Tae.I prepared some midnight snacks if you get hungry." Johnny smiles.
"Thanks Johnny." Taeyong smiles back.
"Also go get some fresh air tomorrow before the big finish." Johnny suggests.
It's a good idea so Taeyong nods obediently.He feels like if he didn't have Johnny in his life,Taeyong would have crumbled already.
*Jaehyun POV*
Jaehyun hates this part the most,when he has to have dinner with his boss to show him that the job was well done.He places the file with the pictures he took in front of his boss,who goes through it and smiles before setting it aside.
"Well done,J." He says.In this line of work they only call each other by the first initial of their names.
"Thanks Mr L." Jeayhun says but he doesn't mean it because he simply doesn't care.He stopped feeling altogether a long time ago.It's been 3 years now since he stopped feeling anything.
Jaehyun always used to be Someone who was emotionally detached until he met someone so special who was capable enough of enticing and drawing feelings out of Jaehyun but that person was gone now,for 3 years to be more precise and the only other time he had felt his heart strings being pulled at again was 3 years ago.
"I Have another job for you but I know you always take a break before doing another so I will Just have it send out to you." Mr L says cutting a huge chunk of his juicy beef.Jaehyun felt like blowing his brains out all over his plate.He wondered how that beef would look like with Mr L's brain chunks all over it.
"Why are you smiling?" Mr L asks.Jaehyun didn't even realize that thought had made him smile.
"I was just thinking about some cat I saw that I want to adopt." Jaehyun lies.
"Yeah good idea.I think some animal companionship would do you some good Son." Mr L smiles at him.Fuck,Now Jaehyun was going to have to take some Stray home,just in case Mr L was keeping Tabs on him,which he was sure he was.
Jaehyun was a police officer once and then he'd been recruited by some Agency that trained Assassins.It was still a half governmental Agency and half non-governmental organization.The governmental part being that they cleaned out Scum like those who committed crime and still got away with it just because they were influential and politicians.
No one was safe from them,point blank.The Non-governmental part of it was that Mr L ran it and Mr L was an asshole.He had these ridiculous rules for them like no dating/getting married/ or having kids.
"No one in our organization should have a weakness."He once told them.The point was everyone was supposed to die old and flaky and miserable just like him.
Imagine retiring and realizing you're all alone.
"We won't be like him right? I don't want to be like him." Someone Jaehyun loved so much had once said.
"No we won't be like him,promise." Jaehyun had said and kissed him.That person was a rule breaker through and through and a little twisted because he literally led a double life.One were he was a sweet brother and a lover and the other were he would go on beast mode and kill ruthlessly without feeling any remorse,Jaehyun used to admire that a lot.
His name was Yuta and he is the reason Jaehyun wants to Kill Mr L but he couldn't because he had a secret of his own,the only other person he wanted to protect.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong wakes up happy and satisfied.He had finally written chapter 53 last night,the way that was satisfying to him.That happiness makes him wake up at 2pm,an hour before his usual waking time.He takes a shower and since it's a bit chilly outside,he gets into his jeans,Long sleeve t-shirt,a coat and some men's boots.
He looks dapper but since he never goes out much,he always dresses up to kill whenever he does.Just in case his outing bleeds into the night,Taeyong leaves a note for Johnny.He grabs his wallet and heads out,punching in the code to lock the apartment door.
Taeyong takes a cab to his favorite restaurant and gets some late lunch.Although Johnny is a good cook,Taeyong always craves junk food.After his meal he decides to take a walk in a random direction,opposite to where he actually stays.He wants to enjoy the rest of the Sun before it sets.
Just a couple blocks down from his favorite restaurant he sees some kids abusing a puppy and his heart just can't take it.Taeyong stops them and they run away.Taeyong just isn't a fan of any type of Cruelty.He doesn't know what to do with the puppy so he researches a shelter nearby and luckily there is one.
He quickly hails a taxi and sits at the back.The puppy nuzzles onto his hand and Taeyong smiles.When he arrives at the shelter he already feels like adopting the puppy but he knows he has to talk about it with Johnny first.
Taeyong fills in some paper work about where he found the puppy and everything.
"Thank you so much for bringing him here." The old lady behind the front desk says.She presses a button and some lady in a blue uniform with a stethoscope comes and gets the puppy.
"She's gonna check his health." The old lady explains.
"What's gonna happen with him?" Taeyong asks curiously.
"Well first we gonna check if he's a missing dog and actually belongs to someone." The old lady says.
"And if he's not?" Taeyong asks.
"Then we'll put him up for adoption." She smiles.
"Great." Taeyong says and writes down his number, "If he doesn't have an owner,give me a call and I'll adopt him." Taeyong adds.
"Oh really,Thank you." The old lady says taking Taeyong's number.
She looks so happy to hear him say that which makes him smile.Taeyong checks the time and it's already 6pm.He should be heading back so he can have plenty of time to discuss with Johnny the possibility of a new family member.
When he turns around he bumps into a guy wearing all black.
"I'm Sorry." Taeyong says and bows.
When he walks out though,he can't help but feel his heart is racing,something tells him to look back and when he does,He realizes why his heart was racing.
That Scent that took too long to leave his mind.The all black get up,the height.It was him,it really was him.Instead of running away though,Taeyong stood by the front of the shelter.He was going to confront him.
*Jaehyun POV*
He couldn't believe in two days he was coming to pick up some cat.What did he know about raising anything anwyay but it had to be done.Jaehyun walks out the shelter and breathes in the air.
"So it really is you." Someone say behind him and Jaehyun goes stiff.Who would recognize him at a place like this.He gets into defensive mode and turns around and Jaehyun sucks in his breath at the sight of him.
It's the ghost from his past.
"It really is you." Taeyong emphasizes, "I thought I was dreaming but here you are." Taeyong keeps rambling and taking steps away from him,he is afraid.Jaehyun doesn't know what to do or how to react.
"Come with me." Jaehyun orders.
"I will not." Taeyong scoffs,trying to look strong but he is clearly afraid.
"If you don't want me to kill you right here right now,come with me." Jaehyun threatens as he walks closer to Taeyong.
"Fine." Taeyong surrenders his hands up.
Jaehyun calls a cab and they get in.The only place he knows he can deal with this privately is his home so he tells the cab driver his apartment building address.Taeyong is quiet the whole ride there.Jaehyun practically drags him along with him as they make their way into the corridor of the 19th floor.
"How did you know where I live?" Taeyong asks.
"What?" Jaehyun stops mid-walking.
"You heard me." Taeyong says.
"You live here?" Jaehyun questions again.
"I'm pretty sure that's what I said.Did you bring me here so you can actually kill me this time?" Taeyong asks very loudly.He needs to stop talking.Jaehyun fishes out an injection with the drug he gives people to render them unconcious.
He jabs Taeyong on the neck and then he opens the door and he drags his body inside.He places him on a chair in the middle of his bedroom and taps his mouth and hands and he waits.After two minutes Taeyong wakes up.He tries to speak but his mouth is tapped shut.
"I'm gonna remove the duct tape but if you scream,I am going to make sure nobody ever finds you." Jaehyun warns before removing the duct tape.
Taeyong looks around and realizes it's not his room rather it's Jaehyun's.
"How did you find me?" Jaehyun asks him.
"Finding you would entail that I was looking for you to begin with and I was not,I just happened to bump into you and recognized you." Taeyong explains.
"It's been so long,how come you remember how I look?" Jaehyun was curious.
"How does one forget the face of the man who tried to kill him." Taeyong says angrily.
"Just Great." Jeayhun sighs, "I've never missed my target or not complete a job before in my life so The fact that I didn't kill you means something.Now you're going to think very hard about what you want in your life going forward but here's one thing you're going to do." Jeayhun says.
"What?" Taeyong asks.
"You're going to forget you met me again and that I even live in the same building as you.If you mention me to anyone I will know and I will actually finish what I started." Jaeyhun threatens.Taeyong sucks in his breath.
"Okay but there's just one thing I want to know from you and then I will forget about you." Taeyong says.
"What?" Jaehyun asks.
"Why Did you not Pull that Trigger?" Taeyong asks.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong couldn't believe the night he was having.He was just kidnapped by the same person who spared his life 3 years ago and then he was threatened yet again.He feels himself losing the firm grip he thought he had on his psychological health.He can't call his therapist because he stopped talking to her a year ago and he desperately needs an outlet,someone to dump his shit on.
He was warned not to talk about him to anyone but if he doesn't,Taeyong will lose it.So he will tell his best friend what happened,he will have to come clean to Johnny.
"I can't tell you why I didn't kill you or why I had to kill you in the first place." The guy had said.It was funny how Taeyong didn't even know his name.
"Then at least tell me your name." Taeyong had said.
"Jaehyun,My name is Jaehyun." He had said.

"Why do you look like that?" Johnny asks him as soon as Taeyong walks in.
"Like what?" Taeyong asks as he hangs his coat.
"Like you just saw a ghost." Johnny clarifies.
"Were you busy with something,cooking maybe?" Taeyong asks looking around the Kitchen.
"No,I was done.Want me to dish up for you?" Johnny asks.
"No it's okay." Taeyong says because he doesn't even think he will be able to eat.
"Come let's sit down." Johnny says,He must see how distressed Taeyong is.Taeyong sits down next to Johnny.
"I have something to tell you.Something that happened to me three years ago." Taeyong says.
"Okay,go on." Johnny says adjusting himself so that he's looking right at Taeyong.
"So someone tried to kill me 3 years ago." Taeyong just says it as it is.
"What?" Johnny says almost falling off the couch. "How could you keep something like that from me?" He asks.
"I didn't think I'd be able to tell you." Taeyong confesses.
"Oh My Gosh.So what exactly happened?" Johnny questions.
"Well I had just lost someone very important to me and things were just a bit tough for me and then one night I woke up with a gun on my face but then he didn't kill me." Taeyong explains.
"Taeyong,how have you been surviving after having something like that happen to you?" Johnny asks.
"I took therapy for a year and then after I met you,I stopped going I felt like I was in a better place and I could write better so I stopped going." Taeyong says.
"That must have been horrible for you." Johnny sympathizes.
"It was and I don't know why he wanted to kill me or Why he didn't." Taeyong sighs and brings his legs closer to him.
"Whatever the reason I'm just glad he didn't." Johnny says.
"I must know anyway." Taeyong whispers to himself.
"Wait is the real reason you can't sleep at night; really because that's when you feel inspired to write?" Johnny asks.
"No it's because since that night I had been terrified and too traumatized to close my eyes at night with all that darkness." Taeyong says.
"I'm really sorry you had to go through all that." Johnny says and hugs Taeyong.This is why Taeyong needed someone to talk to and why it had to be Johnny.He was so understanding and caring and such a good friend.
"It's okay because now I have a routine that actually works for me and I'm able to concentrate and write better at night anyway." Taeyong smiles.
"I just realized something,All those books you wrote....." Johnny's eyes gets wide at the realization.
"Yeah they're all based on true life events that acutally happened to me." Taeyong laughs lightly but it's not a humorous laugh.
"Well he's just a monster,forget about him." Johnny consoles.
"Well that's not how I feel,I feel like he's my savior." Taeyong confesses.
*Jaehyun POV*
When Taeyong had been unconscious Jaehyun had put a tiny litte recording device,not visible to the eye,on Taeyong's coat and his shirt and just as he suspected,he did tell someone about what happened to him.What was surprising though was that his friend was the first person he told and the only other person was his therapist.
Since he remembered how Jaehyun looked like,he also wondered if whether or not he had described how Jaehyun looked like,For his therapist's sake,he hoped Taeyong didn't.For some reason though,Jaehyun felt bad to know that what he done had caused Yuta's brother to suffer.He couldn't believe that Taeyong had problems with sleeping because of what he did.

As Soon as Jaehyun got recruited into the Agency,his goal was to train quietly and be as brutal as he could ever be.He wanted to be a loner and do his things alone but it was required that he picks a partner but when people gathered around,forming pairs Jaehyun kept to himself until a Loudmouth was suddenly in front of him.
"I don't need a partner I can do this alone." Jaehyun said.He wasn't trying to be rude it was just personal.From a very young age Jaehyun had learned to be and was alone.
"And that's precisely why I think you need a Partner in Crime." The guy said, "Get it?" He winked and laughed probably thinking he was being funny about them being criminals.
"No really I'm good." Jaehyun said.
"Well they need us to be in pairs and it's just you and I left without someone." The guy said prompting Jaehyun to look around and indeed it was only them left.
"You know what,I actually like you." He said.
"What, why?" Jaehyun questioned,what he had said was really random.
"Because I somehow feel like out of everyone around here who's pretending like they're some long lost friends,It's actually you and I who are gonna have a genuine bond because I'm really gonna work at getting to know you and not compete." The guy said.
Jaehyun looked at him for quite some time before extending his hand.
"I'm Jaehyun." Jaehyun said.
"And I'm Yuta." He said and they shook hands.
That's how they became J and Y to everyone.They were such a duo.Each others yin-yang.They both figured out their favourite killing style.
Yuta liked the gut wrenching messy type,Decapitation while Jaehyun was just a single bullet right through the head.They also became Mr L's favourite duo because there was never a time they made a mistake that required him to clean up for them while the other assassin's were sneaky like that.
That wasn't until they broke one of his very important rule.Mr L never allowed dating and then Jaehyun and Yuta went on and fell for each other.Jaehyun didn't even realize it until later on that he was in love with Yuta.
Yuta was the first person he ever allowed to hang out with him outside of work,not that it was easy to escape Yuta.Yuta always found him,that was another one of his specialty,finding people.So he pretty much forced Jaehyun to hang out with him because Yuta was completely different deep down in his heart,it was like whenever he worked he shut off his heart and used logic to kill those people based off of their crimes.
But outside of that he was super goofy and heart warming.He affected the way Jeayhun felt little by little and he was obviously able to change his heart.They kept their love affair a secret, afraid of the dire consequences.Besides Jaehyun the only other person Yuta loved was his half-brother Taeyong.They simply meant the world to each other.During their short relationship Taeyong was all Yuta talked about and the only family he ever showed Jaehyun.
When Mr L found out the two were dating,he never said much which should have been suspicious to them but Yuta had said that maybe Mr L understood that them dating only made them Stronger.A week after that Yuta was in a fatal car accident that claimed his life.Jaehyun had grieved him and he was a wreck.
A month after Yuta's Death,Mr L had send Jaehyun to kill someone.He never told him who the person was,he never showed him his pictures only that he was someone who knew too much and had to be killed.Jaehyun was still mourning so he didn't ask much infact he needed someone to punish to let out his emotions.He was given the address of the victim,told he lived alone so they wouldn't be any confusion.
Jaehyun had done his usual breaking in but then what he found shocked him.It was the same guy Yuta used to show him as his brother and next to his bed was a framed picture of the brothers laughing from ear to ear.Jaehyun had felt tears stream down his face as he looked at that picture and then he'd heard a gasp and when he looked down,Taeyong was awake and looking right at him,his eyes filled with fear.
Jaehyun couldn't kill him So he just left and then he just knew from then that Mr L had done something to kill Yuta all Because they were dating.Jaehyun had a plan but he needed time to implement it.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong sits at his desk and tries to start working on chapter 54 of his last book to his best selling trilogy but something has shifted.It's that familiar feeling he felt after finding out that his brother was dead,he felt empty,Lost and alone.He can't imagine this whole experience with Jaehyun tonight has brought back old feelings which make him unable to write.
He presses on a few buttons until he decides what he's written is completely gibberish and deletes everything.Taeyong gets up and head to his room to take a shower and after his shower,he gets in bed and randomly go through channels.There's a knock at his door and Johnny peeks his head in.
"I thought you were sleeping already" Taeyong remarks.
"I was and then I got up to drink some water and the lights were off in the study." Johnny says finally walking all in and he's holding a pillow,Taeyong smiles.
"I just sat in there doing nothing productive so I just felt maybe today I won't be able to write." Taeyong says.
"And that's okay Tae,you're allowed to take breaks,no rush." Johnny smiles.
"I'm gonna sleep in here tonight and you try to get some rest too,I hope with me around you can feel some sense of comfort and safety and maybe be able to sleep." Johnny says fixing the side Taeyong isn't on.
"Well thank you for being so considerate." Taeyong smiles.
"And tomorrow you should go get some fresh air." Johnny suggests.
"Will do." Taeyong says and then remembers something important.
"Hey,how would you feel about adopting a puppy?" Taeyong asks.
"Suddenly?" Johnny laughs.
"Not it's not suddenly.I actually love dogs and today I happened to rescue one and take it to a shelter." Taeyong explains.
"I don't mind and I actually think a puppy would be great for you." Johnny says.
They talk for a while about the puppy until Johnny falls asleep.Taeyong tries to fall asleep too but it's impossible.First he can't fall asleep because he is used to being awake around this time and whenever he closes his eyes,he just gets jumpy and on edge.
Taeyong takes his phone and starts watching movie after movie on Netflix and before he knows it,birds are chirping outside and it's already 5am and it's only then that he actually falls asleep like clockwork.
Something is making noise.Taeyong still very much sleepy look for the source of the noise and it's his phone.
"Hello." He answers his voice pretty much still groggy from sleepiness.
'Mr Lee?' The voice from the other end asks.
"This is him." Taeyong answers.
'I'm calling from the animal Shelter and wanted you to know you can come and adopt the puppy you brought in yesterday if you're still interested.' The lady from yesterday says.
"Really?" He asks already fully awake from excitement.
' Yes really.You can come pick him up anytime you want today.' The lady says.
After the call,Taeyong checks the time and it's already 13:45 so he decides to go immediately.He takes a quick shower,Gets dressed and calls a cab.
*Jaehyun POV*
After he heard Taeyong says that Jaehyun wasn't a monster but his savior,Jaehyun had spend his night doing a lot of thinking.After thinking too much and missing Yuta,He decided he needed to talk to someone who understood how he felt about losing someone they loved and Taeyong would understand the best because they had lost the same person.
He decided he would tell half the truth and lie however he could because Yuta once said some lies had to be told to protect our loved ones and even though Jaehyun couldn't consider Taeyong a loved one to him,he had to admit that he was drawn to him because he was a part of who Yuta was.
Jaehyun felt like in order for him to move on and have some sense of peace and release from the guilt he felt over Yuta's Death,he needed to do right by Taeyong.He needed to fix the mess he had made because now Taeyong was so traumatized by what happened three years ago.
"You're not a monster,you're not cold and emotionless.You're actually very caring and sweet to people you love and I want you to always repeat it like a mantra whenever you feel like you're bad down to your core cause I know better." Yuta had once said to Jaehyun and he believed him.
"I'm not gonna let Mr L undo your hard work Yuta,I promise to not let you down and I'm gonna start so by being there for Taeyong.I have a feeling he needs to know how much you loved him and I can attest to that." Jaehyun says hoping Yuta's spirit is listening.
Since he's been listening in on Taeyong,he knows exactly where he is going to be and that's going to be his only chance to talk to him and anyway he has a cat to pick up too.Jaehyun doesn't waste time and he heads there before Taeyong does.
Two minutes after he arrives Taeyong does too and as if Yuta is really helping him out,the only space left in the waiting room is the chair next to him so Taeyong has no choice but to sit next to him.Taeyong doesn't say anything to him and neither does he because Jaehyun is gathering his confidence.
They're giving adopting forms to fill out and they fill them up.When Taeyong stands up to drop off his Form,Jaehyun finds himself grabbing onto his coat to stop him.Taeyong looks down at Jaehyun sitting down.
"Can we talk?" He says.
"I don't see what.........." Taeyong begins.
"I want to tell you what happened that night." Jaehyun jumps to say.
"Are you playing with me?" Taeyong asks seething.He has every right to be angry.
"No,I really want to tell you what happened." Jaehyun says.Taeyong closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.He stands there thinking,almost for a full minute until he replies.
"Fine,We can talk.I'm guessing you're here for the same reason that I am so let's just get our pets first then we can talk." Taeyong says and continues walking to the front desk.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong can't believe the day he's having.He went from being excited about his dog to being terrified about the answers he will be getting.After completing the adopting procedure,they give him his new puppy with a card that has all the information he needs to know.
His new dog is a husky,He's a month old and 6.803 kg's.They tell him all needs to know.While Taeyong is getting his Puppy,Jaehyun is adopting a cat.
"I have a car let's take that one." Jaehyun says.Taeyong is really curious as to why this guy is polite to him all of a sudden.
" Let's take them to get groomed first,I'm not taking home a tick infested puppy." Taeyong suggests.
"I'm sure they cleaned them up at the shelter." Jaehyun says.
"I'm not gonna take chances,we'll talk in the meantime while they get them ready." Taeyong says and looks up for a pet grooming place in their town.
After they get them an appointment,Taeyong finds an excluded place to sit and Jeayhun sits next to him.
"So talk,I'm all ears." Taeyong prompts.
"This is gonna sound crazy." Jaehyun says.
"Tell me anyway." Taeyong says.
"So I kind of knew your brother." Jaehyun says.
"My brother?" Taeyong questions.
"Yuta.I knew Yuta." Jaehyun says dropping a bomb shell on Taeyong.
"What?Knew him how? Where you friends?" Taeyong asks.
"We were dating." Jaehyun says and Taeyong's eyes bulge at the disbelief.
"What? You're lying,Did you do some digging on me?" Taeyong demands to know.Jaehyun only holds up a picture to him and really it's His brother right there next to Jaehyun.Taeyong grabs the photo and holds it to him as his eyes well with tears.
"Wait,I don't get it.If my brother was your boyfriend then why did you try to kill me?" Taeyong asks and the tears fall this time.Jaehyun takes a beat before answering.
"I wasn't there to kill you.I had come to look for some of his stuff at his old place and was just surprised to see someone in his bed and I only realized later that you were the person he was always talking about whenever I was with him." Jaehyun explains.
"Then why did you have a gun with you?" Taeyong asks.
"Well I used to be a policeman,retired early and I was just used to carrying the gun around." Jaehyun explains.
"You're not lying to me,are you?" Taeyong questions," Because Jaehyun you tied me up and you threatened me saying some weird shit the last time." Taeyong says.
"I swear on your brother,I am not lying." Jaehyun swears." I was just trying to scare you and only realized later that I shouldn't."
"Why didn't you stick around,tell me who you were,I would have understood." Taeyong says.
"I'm so sorry I didn't connect with you sooner.I did went back to look for you but you were already gone." Jaehyun says.
"I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Yuta was in a relationship and I didn't even know the full details of it." Taeyong says,At least his tears have stopped flowing.
"We were going to let everyone know about us when he died." Jaehyun says and looks down.
"I can imagine how heartbreaking that must have been for you."Taeyong sympathizes with him because he remembers the heart wrenching pain he felt that day and the day after that and it's been 3 years and it still hurt that he lost his other half.
"I don't think I will ever recover from losing him." Jaehyun sighs.
"Me too." Taeyong says, " so what made you finally come tell me all these things?" He asks.
"I wondered if we could one day become friends.I know it seems too forward but I'm just hopeful." Jaehyun says.Taeyong looks at him a bit.
"Okay we can work on being friends and I'm sure with trust and honesty will eventually get there.We are the only two people in this world that really knew my brother and I'm sure he would have loved it if we were to become friends." Taeyong says.
*Jaehyun POV*
He had to say Taeyong was quite dedicated but Jaehyun wasn't surprised.Yuta had been the same way,very pushy and very initiative.The day after they had their talk,Taeyong had come and knocked on his door around noon.
"I just realized something after I came home." Taeyong had said.
"What?" Jaehyun asked curisouly.
"That there is a lot I need to do for my pet,naming it being the first and I also need to buy him things to eat,a place to sleep,treats and all these other things and so do you." Taeyong had explained.
"Oh yeah." Jaehyun had said realizing what a job it was going to be taking care of his new cat.
"So lets go." Taeyong smiled.
"Where?" Jaehyun had asked.
"To get what we need for them.You get stuff for your cat and I for my dog." Taeyong shrugged.
That had turned out to be a good idea because as they pushed their cart filling it up with what they needed to raise pets,the two talked and got to know each other better.Taeyong asked questions and Jaehyun replied them however he could especially the question about his job.Since he was a former police officer he told Taeyong that now he was a freelance private investigator.
Taeyong told him about how he was a writer and how he had his first book published and how he started on a series a year ago and how now he was two chapters away from finishing it and Jaehyun promised to read his work.
Taeyong was really fun to hang out with.The first days they would grab coffee or some food late In the afternoon and reminisce and share their memories of the one person that connected them together but now they talked more about each other or sometimes they'd go on a run,they were pretty much friends now.

There is knock on Jaehyun's door and when he looks through the peephole it's Taeyong.Jaehyun smiles before he opens the door.Taeyong has two bags and a laptop bag and his puppy,Bullo is on a leash.
"What's going on?" Jaehyun asks curisouly.
"Well my roommate is going on a two days business trip and I just didn't feel like being home alone." Taeyong says.
"And You want to be here?" Jaehyun asks.
"Well if that's okay with you." Taeyong says.
"It's okay,come in." Jaehyun says opening the door further. "I was just dishing up,should I put some food for you?" He asks.
"Is it homemade food?" Taeyong asks settling his bags on the floor.
"Yeah it is." Jaehyun says.
"Then,yes please.Thank you." Taeyong says and comes over to sit on the Kitchen Island.
Jaehyun and Taeyong have hung out too many times to count but they've never stayed overnight at each other's places.Jaehyun likes and appreciates Taeyong's company and now a little more than he should.They eat and talk about their day.Taeyong insist on washing the dishes while Jaehyun takes a shower.
As he showers Jaehyun realizes that some shift has happened between them,he just isn't sure what it is but he is sure when he opened the door for Taeyong earlier there was a little tug on his heart strings.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong has to admit he found himself wanting to spend more time with Jaehyun,whenever he could.He was starting to understand why his brother Loved Jaehyun.It wasn't only because he was good company no,there was Something there.Jaehyun was special in ways Taeyong couldn't explain and not to mention hot and handsome.
"You like like him." Johnny had said.
"I don't think that's what it is yet." Taeyong had replied.
"But it's a strong possibility cause you said Yet." Johnny had smirked at him like he knew everything.
"Maybe,maybe not." Taeyong had said.
Taeyong didn't know if it was a possibility or not but all he knew was that the conversations they used to have about his brother had taken a back seat.Now all they talked about was them.

After washing the dishes,Taeyong sits down on the floor of Jaehyun's living room and goes through the channels looking for something to watch.Bullo was ignoring him chewing on his toy.Only Jaehyun's cat which he hasn't named yet seems to love attention so Taeyong has it on his lap and he's petting him.
"That cat will never leave you alone now." Jaehyun says as he comes into the room.Taeyong looks up to respond and is met with a Shirtless Jaehyun with wet hair that he's runnung a towel through and he's armpit hair looks pretty.He's really a sight to see with those prominent abs and muscles and that V that's just below his belly button.Taeyong clears his throat.
"Want me to blow dry your hair?" Taeyong asks.
"Would you? Cause I really can't sleep with wet hair and I'm lazy to dry it myself." Jaehyun says.
"Yeah sure." Taeyong smiles.Jaehyun fetches his hair dryer,plugs it in and settles on the floor.
He's still shirtless and for some reason Taeyong is super affected by that.
He goes about drying Jaehyun's hair and they are quite for some time until Jaehyun speaks first.
"I never asked you this but you and your roommate,Are you guys dating?" He asks and Taeyong is so caught off guard.He wasn't expecting such a question.
"Ah no.Johnny has a boyfriend already.We're just roommates and friends and he's also somehow my boss." Taeyong says.
"Howcome?" Jaehyun asks.
"Well him and his boyfriend actually owns the publishing company that publish my books and also Johnny is my editor." Taeyong explains.
"Oh okay.So have you ever dated before,been in love?" Jaehyun continues with his questions.What was up with that line of questioning anyway,What was he so curious about?
"I've dated two times before.First it was during my college days and then after but I can't say I was In Love during any of those times." Taeyong says.
"Why not?" Jaehyun asks.
"Well during College the guy I was dating cheated on me and then the second time,it was more of a fling than a relationship if I'm being honest." Taeyong explains.
Jaehyun lifts up his head and looks at Taeyong.
"A fling?" Jaehyun asks.
"Yeah I didn't want to jump into a relationship while I still had a bitter taste of it in my mouth." Taeyong shrugs.Jaehyun keeps looking at him without responding and Taeyong looks back,his hands still in Jaehyun's hair.
Taeyong quickly clears his throat.
"I have to shower too." Taeyong says, "Your hair is dry now." Taeyong adds before quickly getting up from where he's sitting and practically runs out of the room.
"Okay Cool." Jaehyun says as he goes to unplug his hair dryer,his muscles flexing.
*Jaehyun POV*
Jaehyun swears there was a moment there between them,he had felt it and he was sure Taeyong had felt it too.Jaehyun had seen the way Taeyong looked at him when he came into the room shirtless.He hadn't even meant it,he had realized he came into the room shirtless a split second later after he commented about his cat Taeyong had been holding.Jaehyun was used to walking around shirtless everytime after his shower when he towel dried his hair.
After a while Taeyong comes out of his shower too.
"I have something to give you." Taeyong says and walks into the room.
"Okay." Jaehyun can't hide his excitement.
"It's actually my first copy of the last book.Johnny said the official publishing date is the day after tomorrow and since you've finished reading it,I wanted you to be the first one to read the last book." Taeyong smiles and hands over the book.
"Wow it's so good looking." Jaehyun says and Taeyong laughs.
"I actually told Johnny the same thing.His team really put creative thoughts into the cover of this one." Taeyong says.
"Anyway, Thank you." Jaehyun says.For a nerd like Taeyong,Jaehyun knew what it really meant to him to be giving out his first copy to someone and Jaehyun was happy it was him.
"Anyway I'm going to bed now and you know I don't have a spare bedroom because I used that room for my work but If you want you can share my bed with me." Jaehyun offers.
"That's so cool of you to offer but I never sleep at night." Taeyong says.Jaehyun actully feels bad that it's all Because of him.
"You're Welcome to come anyway." Jaehyun says.
"Goodnight Jae." Taeyong says with a smile that could lit up a Christmas tree.
"Goodnight." Jaehyun says and make his way to his room holding his gift.
Yuta was the only other person who ever called him Jae and now Taeyong was calling him that.Jaehyun smiles,Settles in his bed and he starts reading Taeyong's book.Jaehyun smiles at himself upon realizing he is the first person to be reading this book.Around 10pm Jaehyun is still awake and reading but he feels lonely.He feels lonely knowing Taeyong is In his apartment just not In his bedroom.
Jaehyun Gets up and goes to where Taeyong is.Taeyong is wearing glasses as he focuses on his laptop.Jaehyun has to admit that he looks so fucking good and nerdy in them and so attractive.Jaehyun clears his throat and Taeyong looks up.
"Come on." Jaehyun says.
"What?" Taeyong asks curiously.
"Come on." Jaehyun says and grabs his laptop for him.
Taeyong follows closely behind.Jaehyun puts the laptop on the side of the bed where he doesn't sleep,turn the volume down on the TV in his room and gestures for Taeyong to get in on the other side.Taeyong doesn't argue and just do as Jaehyun says.They sit next to each other under the blankets and Jaehyun picks up the book to continue reading.
"Just stay in here with me instead." Jaehyun just says.Taeyong says and picks his laptop up and continue what he was doing ealier.
*Taeyong POV*
Taeyong must have been dreaming but he felt it.He felt it when Jaehyun had kissed his forehead.Jaehyun must not have known that Taeyong wasn't a deep sleeper.Something was blooming between them and the more they spend time with each other,the more whatever it was grew stronger.
It was a bit scary though for Taeyong because for the first time he wanted something profound and sweet and he wasn't sure if Jaehyun wanted the same thing.Yes Jaehyun had kissed his forehead but it could mean anything.

"So he kissed you on the forehead?" Johnny asks.
"Yeah and I don't want to read too much into it because he thought I was asleep." Taeyong says and sighs as he pets Bullo,who licks his hand.
"And don't,if you don't want to but I can assure you something is going on between you two and it will only be a matter of time." Johnny says.
"He was my brother's boyfriend." Taeyong says trying to convince himself that if Anything were to happen he'd convince himself otherwise using that as an excuse.
"I understand that but he's not here anymore and if Jaehyun makes you happy i don't think he'd be mad and if Jaehyun is just as happy because of you then that's even more ideal." Johnny says.
"Ideal?" Taeyong asks confused.
"Yeah because that would mean he moved on and with you too.I wouldn't want someone I love to be hung over me even after my death,I would want them to continue living life to the fullest." Johnny explains.
Taeyong looks at the framed picture of him and Yuta.Would you give me that blessing?Taeyong thinks to himself.

The following week Taeyong and Jaehyun spend more time together.When the first book signing comes around,Jaehyun treats Taeyong to dinner at his place to celebrate the more success of the series.
Taeyong finds it hard now being in the same room with Jaehyun without having some form of Contact with him.He comes up with a plan to avoid him for a while.
He comes up with these excuses that he has started writing again so he's busy but that's a lie.When Jaehyun calls he makes Johnny answer the phone.
"Stop torturing yourself." Johnny demands.
"This is less torturous unlike when I'm in the same room with him and have the urge to jump him." Taeyong whines.
"Then go ahead and jump him." Johnny laughs.
"I'm Anything but impulsive and you know that." Taeyong sighs.
"I'm seriously annoyed here.You're annoying me,the both of you." Johnny says.
"What are you talking about?" Taeyong asks on the brink of laughter.Johnny can be so dramatic sometimes.
"I'm talking about how I've seen you two talk to each other so animatedly and so lost in whatever you're saying to each other that you don't even notice when someone walks in or out of the room.How you smile so genuinely and how he looks at you when that happens,almost like you're the sole purpose of every creation." Johnny shakes him head.
"I'm so mad that I get to see it but you two don't.So do something about it.Go over there right now and talk it out." Johnny says as he pushes Taeyong out the door.
"What will I even say?" Taeyong questions.
"I don't know,Just anything.For as long as you stop frustrating me." Johnny points out.
*Jaehyun POV*
Taeyong has been avoiding him for days now and so Jaehyun is surprised to see him at his door.
"Hey." Jaehyun greets.
"Hi." Taeyong says.
"What are you doing here so late?" Jaehyun asks curisouly.
"Johnny kicked me out." Taeyong says and invites himself inside.
"What?Why?" Jaehyun asks laughing a little.
"Apparently I'm frustrating and annoying him which is making him mad." Taeyong says as Jaehyun closes the door and walks toward him.
"What did you do?" He asks.
"It's more about what I didn't do and should be doing." Taeyong says.
"Which is?" Jaehyun asks.Taeyong closes the space between them and kisses Jaehyun with just a peck on the lips.
Jaehyun's brain feels fried so it takes him longer to react and when he finally does,Taeyong is already leaving.
"I told him this was a bad idea and he didn't listen to me." Taeyong says and grabs the handle of the door.
"No stop." Jaehyun says rushing to him.
"I'm so sorry I did that.It's just I think I like you and I somehow convinced myself that you felt the same way,well Johnny convinced me too and now I'm embarrassed I did that." Taeyong explains.
He really is cute when he rambles and blush at the same time.Jaehyun holds Taeyong's hand over the door knob.
"Is that why you've been avoiding me because you like me?" Jaehyun asks.
Taeyong looks down at their hands before responding.
"Yeah." He says and looks up," I just didn't want to complicate both of our lives." He adds.
"There's really nothing to complicate." Jaehyun says before he leans in and Kisses Taeyong and instead of the peck Taeyong gave him earlier Jaehyun really kisses him.
"I like you too Tae and I got worried when you weren't talking to me or answering my calls.I thought I did something bad."Jaehyun says once they let go.
"No you didn't do anything,I just didn't know what to do about how I felt." Taeyong says.
They walk over to Jaehyun's kitchen and Taeyong sits down on a stool.
"What would you like,Water or juice?" Jaehyun asks.
"Do you have wine?" Taeyong asks.
"Coming right up." Jaehyun says and pours them some wine.
"I just felt guilty for falling for you." Taeyong confesses.
"I felt guilty too in the beginning but then remembered how he always used to urge me to be open to others and how he always said I should always try my best to be happy." Jaehyun says and reaches over across the Kitchen Island and holds Taeyong's hand. "You've been making me happy lately And I've been smiling more so it's only natural that I gravitated towards you." Jaehyun adds.
Taeyong smiles at him and they talk about when they think it exactly happened for both of them and funny enough it was the same night when Taeyong came over to sleep because His roommate wasn't there.
For Jaehyun it was the moment he opened the door for Taeyong,it was like Taeyong was coming home where he belonged.For Taeyong it was when Jaehyun kissed his forehead.
"I thought you were sleeping." Jaehyun says hiding his face.
"I was until I felt your breath on my face and the kiss,then I was awake.I'm not a deeper sleeper you know."Taeyong laughs.
"Now I know for future references."Jaehyun says covering his face with his hand feeling a bit embarrassed.
*Taeyong POV*
"Come on." Jaehyun Says after their glasses of wine.Taeyong follows him to his bedroom.Jaehyun invites him over to the bed.
"I bet Johnny still doesn't want you back at least until tomorrow." He says.
Well Taeyong could just go back and tell him they kissed and he'd be let back inside but Taeyong's also knows Jaehyun is saying this because he wants Taeyong to spend the night.
Taeyong gets in the blankets next to Jaehyun but unlike last time,Jaehyun spreads his arms to him.Taeyong smiles and snuggles with him.
"I missed you." Jaehyun says close to Taeyong's ear.
"Me too." Taeyong says and Jaehyun leans down and they kiss,if Taeyong is counting the peck he gave Jaehyun earlier,this is their third kiss.
They make small talk with their hands intertwined until Jaehyun drifts off to sleep.Taeyong smiles at him as his breathing and heartbeat has slowed to a steady pace.
"Goodnight Jae." He whispers,funny enough Taeyong feels sleepy too so he closes his eyes and funny enough he actually falls asleep.

Taeyong wakes up with Kisses being planted all over his face.
"Good morning Tae." Jaehyun smirks at him.
"Morning Jae." He smiles at him.
"You actually fell asleep.I woke up around 2 Something am and you were asleep." Jaehyun says happily.
"Oh yeah,you're right." Taeyong laughs.
"Does that mean with my arms around you,you will be able to sleep?" Jaehyun asks curisouly.
"That's probably it." Taeyong says matching Jaehyun's happy face.
"Come on,let's get out of bed,we have a lot to do." Jaehyun announces.
"We do?" Taeyong asks.
"Yes we do.Le'ts just spend the day together and do everything and anything we want to do." Jaehyun suggests.
"Okay sounds like a plan to me." Taeyong agrees.

Taeyong gets ready and by 10 am Jaehyun and him are well on their way out.They go around looking at places together hand in hand.Jaehyun takes pictures of him.They went around to places they've both wished they could go to.It was a matter of asking each other where they've always wished to go and then they just got into a cab and went there.
It was the most fun innocent thing they could do to spend time with each other.
"Where to now?" Jaehyun asks him.It was well after 7pm and they were still out.
"How about some street food for dinner and then a walk by the Han river?" Taeyong suggests.
"Sounds cool." Jaehyun smirks.
They found a stall that was known for cooking delicious ramen and they ordered.
"Make mine extra spicy." Jaehyun says.
"I don't like spicy food." Taeyong grimaces.
"Oh my,the first thing we don't have in common." Jaehyun laughs.
"I just think food loses its taste when it's spicy cause all I think about is how my tongue is burning up instead of how the food actually tastes." Taeyong explains.
They continue talking about their likes and dislikes as they eat.Taeyong even tastes Jaehyun's food and has to drink lots and lots of water after that because of how Spicy it is.Jaehyun calls Taeyong's food bland just cause it doesn't have his preferred spiciness level.They laugh at each other's food preference as they finish up.
After that they do take a walk along the Han river where they share a kiss and they return home.
*Jaehyun POV*
Being together all the time was their thing now.Wherever Taeyong went,Jaehyun felt compelled to follow.Recently they'd gone to do some shopping as per Taeyong's request.He said he wanted to do some wardrobe makeover so Jaehyun had helped him pick some outfits but everything suited him just fine,he was gorgeous like that.
To both their surprise Taeyong slept very well at night now for as long as he had Jaehyun's arms around him.Jaehyun was very much boastful about that,it was like Jaehyun's arms were Taeyong's safe Haven.They haven't gone past making out but Jaehyun was looking forward to going further.Taeyong had looked like he belonged under him the last time they had made out until they had their shirts off.
Jaehyun almost forgot about his other life until one night he got a text that there was a new job to do.He cursed himself,had he known back then that he'd regret this much,Jaehyun would have stayed a cop But then would all his love had found him then,it was a single choice he made thinking it was the best for him but now he regreted it.He also had to come up with some bullshit to tell Taeyong.

"So you are going out of the City for business?" Taeyong asks curisouly.
"Yeah,it will be two days max then I will be back." Jaehyun lies,he really doesn't want to but to protect Taeyong he has to lie.
"I've always wondered when you actually worked ever since we met,we've always been in one space." Taeyong says.
"Well I didn't have any work lined up but now someone wants me to find someone for them." Jaehyun explains.
"Okay go do you." Taeyong says climbing into Jaehyun's bed.
"I will see you in two days okay?" Jaehyun says leaning closer to Taeyong and planting a kiss on those soft lips of his.
"Okay Jaehyun,hurry back and maybe there will be a present waiting for you to unwrap." Taeyong winks at him.
"Very tempting." Jaehyun laughs.

J: Okay Got it.
Jaehyun worked through the details of his kill.It was a woman this time.You'd think since she's a woman she'd be lesser evil but no,this woman was working her way through politics and she was all about woman empowerment but in actual fact she ran a bar where prostitution was the main thing.You wanna empower women,send them to school and educate them that they can be anything they want to be for as long as they don't have to pleasure men for it as an Alternative to make their dreams come true,No judgement but that was Jaehyun's take on it.
It was a quick job to be honest and he was well on his way home earlier than he had anticipated.He missed making Taeyong laugh and blush those two days that he was away.Taeyong had hinted at something that Jaehyun was excitedly looking forward to.
He made a pit stop somewhere he hadn't been to in such a long time,it was a sex toys shop.Jaehyun laughs to himself as he looks around.Maybe next time he'd bring Taeyong here along with him,it would be fun when they both knew their preferences of things.
*Taeyong POV*
"What's wrong with you?" Johnny asks laughing.
"Nothing is wrong with me.Just tell me if I look good." Taeyong whines.
"Yeah you do and for the hundredth time,you smell good too." Johnny says.
"Man it's been so long,I don't want to seem stupid or not well versed in what I'm doing." Taeyong says Fidgeting.
"Umm it's probably been so long for him too so don't worry." Johnny tries to reassure him.
"Uh I don't think so,Have you seen his body? I don't think anyone with a body like that could keep it under lock and key for so long." Taeyong says.
"Have YOU Seen your body too.I can't believe I'm even telling you this but you're hot too so don't worry too much and just leave before I kick you out again." Johnny says pointing at the door.
"Fine." Taeyong says walking towards it.
"Ah Wine." Johnny reminds him.
"Okay thanks." Taeyong doesn't know why he's so nervous,He grabs the wine and heads to Jaehyun's apartment.
"Welcome back." Taeyong says as soon as Jaehyun opens the door and he holds up the wine bottle.
"Thanks babe.Is this the gift I was supposed to unwrap?" Jaehyun asks as he takes the wine from Taeyong.
"Maybe." Taeyong laughs and Leans in for a kiss.He doesn't even care that he's still standing by the door.Jaehyun pulls him all the way inside with their lips still on each other and he pushes the door close with the other hand That's not around Taeyong.
"Thank you for the wine." Jaehyun says as he walks into his kicthen holding the bottle.
"You're Welcome." Taeyong says as he follows him closely behind, " Didn't you get me anything?" Taeyong asks and pouts.
"I did but it's for later." Jaehyun says.
"I want it now." Taeyong demands.
"Okay." Jaehyun laughs and stands in front of him.
Jaehyun kisses him,with more force and vigour than when he first walked in.The kiss is so hot that he leans more into it until their bodies are literally flat against each other.Jaehyun pulls on Taeyong's bottom lip demanding that he opens up more.
Taeyong does and his head gets hazy as Jaehyun slips his tongue inside his mouth.Jaehyun moves his tongue like he's done this a million times.
