Summary
“It’s been what, two years now? Three?”
“Since...what?”
“Since you two have been crushing on each other, silly.”
“I did not have a c—” Jaemin starts to complain, because it’s not true and even if it was true Donghyuck wouldn’t have the right to know. Probably.
“You’re both helpless idiots,” Donghyuck pinches his cheek. “Don’t fuck this up.”

Summary
"It was lonely," Jeno says honestly. "And I didn't realize how lonely it was until now. I didn't realize how small my world was until I stepped outside of it."
"It can be lonely out here too," Jaemin comments mildly.
And again, Jeno knocks the breath out of Jaemin when he says, without hesitation, "I haven't felt lonely since I met you."
Jaemin opens himself up a little more, hoping Jeno doesn't hear the way his voice shakes when he replies, "Yeah. Me either."

Summary
But Jeno tries to understand it, tries to narrow down the meaning of life in the patterns of leaves and the poison of pollen. His academic career has been centered around the levels to which organic life forms can truly communicate—more so plant to human communication—and thus far he has confirmed two things.
1) Plants have always and will always contain minds of their own.
2) People, by design, are stupid and flawed creatures.Bookmarked by Ty9597

Summary
He still can’t trust Jaemin, or trust that this small relapse in his judgment is permission. Jeno’s alpha is screaming at him to listen, to know that Jaemin’s hands on him are earnest and honest, to give in to instinct. It would be so easy, it can be so easy, but the aftermath could be so very hard.

Summary
Jeno stands in front of the mirror by his dresser, very aware of the way the sun makes the dust in his room look grossly heavy, and tries to shove those feelings back where they came from.
