He can't ask for more when he's on borrowed time anyway, and he doesn't want to go back to earth and leave it all behind. He belongs, even if he misses humanity sometimes. His life on Erid is perfect, really. A little monotonous. A little lonely, sometimes.

    And then something changes that.

    Simon is at the brink of death, the eel about to consume the ship. the black box in his arm. One moment he's drowning at the bottom of the blood ocean, the next he is in a spaceship with a talking rock and a science teacher. Grace was alone on his ship, but now he has the chance for a do over, a new face, a living breathing person, not from earth. Grace and rocky were on their way back to erid, when they got a faint signal from a blood moon, two living creatures deep below.
    Grace needs to cure Simon of his radiation far before he could ever explain the truth about the stars. Why they can't return to earth, and keep rocky from driving Simon insane.
    Rocky is excited for a new human friend aboard the Hail Mary, and to watch the alien dynamic of human roommates.
