This unfortunate situation had been triggered by a series of unlikely events involving the ‘most epic of epic dates ever’ and a falling ladder.

She hadn’t cried when she got the phone call. She had been in the living room of her college apartment at the time, with a few of her housemates and friends. KT had asked what had happened and she’d told her; her aunt had passed peacefully in her sleep, some heart thing no one had known about kicking in overnight. The gathering dispersed, Eddie had been called from his own apartment not too far away, but Patricia stayed pretty much the same.

Alternatively titled: 6 times Victor got a migraine
It was all subjective really. Maybe they had been miscreants launching a deliberate and malicious attack against Victor’s prize dahlias, or maybe they had just been having fun playing catch when the competitive streak kicked in and the flowers were unfortunately caught in the cross-fire. If he hadn’t wanted his flowers to become a casualty, maybe he shouldn’t have planted them there.
Tragically, Victor didn’t see it their way, so Patricia and Eddie were once again stuck doing chores for the foreseeable future.
