They part the fuzziness of his mind like a beam of golden sunlight shining through a break between churning grey storm clouds. A veritable lightbulb going off in his foggy, groggy mind.

Summary

Somewhere in the glare of the stage lights and an unexpected first love, Jiang Cheng stumbles upon the thing he was searching for all along: the courage to dream — and to attempt the impossible.

The asshole's some kind of crooked lawyer, old money, and he works out a good ol' boys deal. Now this guy's daughter is in the ground while her murderer walks free.
