Fran is a Virginia Opossum shifter, the only marsupial native to North America. They're commonly referred to as possums or opies in the US, and will be used interchangeably throughout this fic. Young opossums are called "joeys". And fun fact - a group of opossums is called a passel!

Rey is counting down the days until she can finally finish her engineering degree. All she has to do is survive one more year.
That would be easier if she wasn't stuck in the class taught by Professor Ren, a notoriously demanding teacher with impossible standards. Worse still, he's been assigned as her thesis advisor.
They get off on the wrong foot immediately, and it will be a miracle if they don't kill each other before the year is done.
But the more they are forced to work together, the more Rey's feelings begin to change. She finds it harder and harder to remember that he's her teacher, and that boundaries exist for a reason.
