This is an AU written for @sanerontheinside's birthday(s). It began as a silly romp, remains a silly romp, and as such does not engage with the problematic aspects of the Indiana Jones ethos ("It belongs in a museum!"). In this AU, the "archeology" is set dressing for the silly, ahistorical romance. In real life, as we well know, the mission of protection, preservation, and education espoused by museums has led to vast amounts misappropriation and theft of native artifacts and remains.
