Venti understood perfectly well what partnering with the Tsaritsa meant. He wasn’t naive. He knew the reputation she carried now and what she is planning. He knew aligning himself with her would destroy whatever remained of his neutrality. He would be throwing everything away, potentially even himself.
But as the frozen wind howled around him, Venti came to a simple conclusion: he no longer cared, not if it meant preventing more loss, not if it meant never watching another friend die while he stood helpless beside them. If the Tsaritsa truly possessed the power and resolve to challenge the heavens then perhaps she was right. Perhaps rebellion was the only answer left.
