Deku felt like he was cursed. There was no other explanation for the destruction that followed him wherever he went or whatever he did. It didn’t matter how much he attempted to act with the best intentions for everyone's sake. He would always fail and cause others’ demise because that’s what he was; a useless quirkless good for nothing. Even Katsuki had told him so and now he has lost everything.
“And who might you be?”
He lifted his head from the soil it was buried in and looked at the masked man with golden eyes. He was on one knee and one of his hands was behind him like he was hiding something from him.
Deku sniffled as fresh tears streamed down his face, “I’m Deku.”
