Using all recorded history available in the lands of Hyrule, the Sheikah estimated the arrival of Calamity Ganon on the day of Princess Zelda's sixteenth birthday. It does not come.
Zelda is one year older now and yearns to live a live outside of the stone walls built to protect her. An adult, she dreams and desires of a life that is unattainable to one holding her title. Her only chance to live that life, in one way or another, is through her loyal protector Link.

Summary

In this telling, Zelda and Link are not joined at the hip. A wedge has been driven between them, and it quickly grows to a chasm through fate and circumstance.
