Summary
The feeling came back. In full force, this time. The flood gate opened, and Alastor’s heart broke and mended itself in the span of a second.
Lucifer. It’d been him. All along. All this time.
The angel cut his own chatter off when he noticed him, taking a proper look at Alastor for the first time since he arrived at the hotel.
“Alastor?” Lucifer asked, breathless.
Alastor could only nod.
How could he ever had forgotten?

Or: Lucifer and Alastor fall in love when Alastor is still human. Then Alastor dies, but it’s fine, they can still reunite in Hell, right? It’s not like Alastor will forget the love of his life.

Alastor could feel Lucifer watching him.
Even though the fallen angel stood across the room, apparently engrossed in his conversation with Charlie over what kinds of foliage might be likely to survive the acid rain if planted in the garden, Alastor could feel the other man's eyes burning a hole in his back.
