Summary
It's far too early to hear back from the Hail Mary, so Eva Stratt is uncertain why an unidentified object is headed towards Earth. As the one saddled with all the space nonsense, she moves to retrieve it. What she finds is a spacecraft covered in blood, containing a young woman claiming to be from after the death of the stars. And maybe perchance they kiss.

Heavily heavily heavily inspired by Soldier, Poet, Kindred Spirit by beepbeepblunderbus here on ao3. Based heavily on those ideas, with some creative liberties. HIGHLY recommend you read that one before this one!!! It’s really good and this is more or less a direct “what-if” to a decision in grace’s past mentioned in chapter 8 of that work. Read it!!!!!!!!!!
