"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Well, I mean, people don't cheat unless there's something wrong in their relationship. Maybe John isn't satisfying you, or—"
"Oh my god will you please shut up."
"You're the one who asked me for advice."
He's at the farm again. On Robert's day off. Mackenzie's in his overalls fixing some fence, had listened rather politely actually while Aaron ranted at him about what an idiot he's been. As much as he hates Mackenzie's input, he's glad to have someone he can talk to about everything.
"Aaron, you've got to stop asking me what I think if you're just going to ignore everything I say anyway."
Aaron gives him a look.
"No I don't."

“Mornin’ Rob,” she says brightly, before walking her way across the room and pulling out the chair beside him to take a seat. She clocks the notebook before he can react and picks it up before he can stop her. “Oh what’s this then?”
“It’s nothin’.” He snaps and reaches out to try and grab it from her. Vic leans back quickly in her seat and holds it to the side and out of his reach.
“Uh, doesn’t seem like nothin’ does it?” She says knowingly, her eyebrow raised as she scans her eyes over his face. He sighs and falls back into his seat, knowing now that Vic would be like a dog with a bone until she got it out of him.

Sometimes, Aaron wants to punch John. Wants to punch anyone, anything, but John is the closest thing. The old life is bad, but the new life is like a skin that doesn’t quite fit. Like he has to bend to fit into a mould that should be comfortable. The mould isn’t the problem; Aaron is.
He has a temper. He doesn’t know what is good for him. The past is a fire pit, and Aaron keeps trying to jump inside. He doesn't know how to stop.
Aaron lost his memory. Luckily, he has John, who helps him get better. He doesn't need his old memories. Especially not when a handsome blond man shows up at his engagement party, claiming to be his ex-husband.
