Summary
This was Flins’ most confounding trait: his brazen insistence that during a three-day coma following a car accident, he’d spent hundreds of years in some other magical world. It was impossible to tell if he meant it sincerely or if he’d been bullshitting everyone he’d ever spoken to in the ten years since the accident occurred. (The accident did happen, and Flins did spend three days in a coma. Illuga found the archived news articles about it.) There was no way Flins believed what he was saying. It was impossible.
But if it was going to happen to anyone…

For some reason, this sends Durin deeper into despair. For a moment, he manages to hold himself together, biting down on his bottom lip as silent tears stream from his red eyes, but his composure breaks and he curls in on himself. Durin’s chest heaves with wheezy, racking sobs as he buries his face in his hands.
“Look what you did,” Hat Guy whispers, narrowing his eyes at Sethos. “You talk too much.”

Summary
Kim feels for the Satellite Officer. It’s clear what he’s been through, what Harry has subjected him to over the last few years - Kim only knows the half of it, of course, but he’s seen it before, hermit-cops pushing everyone away, their partner last man standing at the bombsite. Still, it feels cruel to punish this person for it, this wiped-clean, remade Harry, looking at Kim now like a bottle-fed animal about to be released into the wild. If Kim does go to the 41st, navigating all this will be an extra layer of complexity. He should think very carefully about it - about whether it’s worth getting mixed up in all of it. The mess.
A slow-burn, Kim-POV story about going to the 41st, against his better judgement.
