Summary
It would’ve been easier if Ilya had taken his hand outside and allowed for the potent sedative on Shane’s glove to absorb through his skin, out there in the secluded, concrete garden of the estate. The drug would’ve taken him before he realized it, and he would’ve been a lot calmer. But to his own surprise, Shane found that he didn’t mind the brief moment when his dark eyes met Ilya’s panic-filled ones just before Ilya was visibly overtaken by drowsiness and his legs buckled. Maybe it was the moment of peace that had immediately washed over him that negated the fear Shane saw. Maybe it was something else, but now – with the Russian limp in his seat, his body lolling forward until his head rested on Shane’s shoulder as he succumbed to drug-induced slumber – was hardly the time to ponder it.

"I want to try something," Shane said, sitting up straight as Ilya lay propped up on pillows beside him.
"I need an hour, cолнышко, we're not teenagers anymore," he replied without looking up from his phone.
"No, not that kind of something!" Shane snapped back, his face dusting pink at the implication. "Something to help you relax."
Ilya looked up at him and raised an eyebrow.
"Something else!" He insisted when he realized what his husband was thinking.
"Okay," Ilya relented, setting his phone on the nightstand and turning his full attention to Shane. "What is this something?"
Shane took a deep breath before beginning his prepared proposal.
