Summary
The universe is ever-changing. Often, the beliefs of those living in it aren’t. When this incompatibility reaches a breaking point, the result isn’t breakage. It’s… renewal, Regulus thinks. Revival, a reminder that change is inevitable, and if one can’t handle it…
Well. They’ll just have to.
This is the story of the universe Regulus lives in. It is not his, because the universe is indomitable, inviolable and inalienable. His job is simply to let it be. To conserve its principles, and watch as it is once again born out of a heat death, a collapse, a black hole.

Ginevran gods are immortal. Immortality is considered the greatest blessing: any other opinion is sacrilegious. They are able to entertain themselves endlessly and suffer zero consequences — violence, sex, drugs, alcohol — what more could they want? They can do it all, forever, and never die.
It’s perfection to the highest degree.
And Remus hates it.

“Adrien, Chat Noir’s father would be devasted if something ever happened to him.”
Ah. She knows. Somehow this only annoys Adrien.
He rolls his eyes. “Nathalie, I’m sure that Chat Noir’s father is too busy trying to take over the world to notice.”
Nathalie glares at him. “Adrien, you know that’s not true.”
“Do I?” he challenges, putting his hands on his hips and stretching up to his full height. He’s almost as tall as she is. “I’m pretty sure it would take Chat Noir’s father a few days to realize that his son was gone if Chat Noir snuck out a window and ran away. Chat Noir could probably hire a body double to pretend to be Chat Noir in his day to day life, and Chat Noir’s father wouldn’t notice for maybe a month. I mean, it’s not like Chat Noir’s father eats meals with him or goes out of his way to spend time with him with any kind of regularity. How long do you think it would take Chat Noir’s father to notice, Nathalie?” Adrien snorts sarcastically.
If she wants to get on his case about his wellbeing all of the sudden, fine. Two can play at that game.
Only the look she gives him is so sad and contrite. “Oh, Adrien…all right. If you can’t believe that Chat Noir’s father would be upset if something happened to him, can you at least believe that Chat Noir’s father’s secretary would care? She might not always show it, but she worries about him. She worries when she sees the footage on the news of him getting batted about by supervillains. She frets when she finds his room empty. She’s afraid that one day he’s going to walk out the front door and never come back because something is going to happen to him and Ladybug won’t be able to fix it. She was out of her mind with worry today.”
Adrien finds himself speechless at her earnest confession.
“R-Really?” he stammers.
She lets out a sigh of exasperation. “Yes! Despite my name, I’m not really heartless! I haven’t spent the past decade helping to raise you only to lose you like I thought I did today!”
Adrien closes the distance between them in seconds, enveloping her in a hug that’s completely inappropriate for an employee and her boss’s son. Adrien doesn’t care. “I’m really sorry, Nathalie.”
After she gets over the initial shock, Nathalie rests her head against his and lets her arms encircle him. “I am too,” she whispers. “Especially because I know you’re not going to change.”

Summary
“Who is he?” Adrien inquired, stepping closer to Marinette to peer curiously at the cute bundle in her arms.
Alix tactfully dropped the first bombshell: “His name is Louis. He’s Future Chat Noir’s son.”
Adrien nearly fell over in shock as his legs threatened to give out on him.
“If he’s Chat Noir’s son,” Marinette reasoned crankily, bitter about having her moment interrupted yet again. “why don’t you bring him to this timeline’s Chat Noir for him to take care of?”
With a sadistic smirk, Alix dropped bombshell number two: “Because you’re Louis’s mother.”
Marinette made a strangled noise as she looked frantically between the baby in her arms and the superhero seemingly wrecking Marinette’s five-year plan.
Marinette’s love confession is interrupted when Alix brings Marinette and Chat Noir’s son from the future for Adrien and Marinette to babysit for a week.

“Special delivery,” Alix sang, handing the child over to a stunned Marinette. “The Stork Miraculous holder was busy, so…”
—
“I’m worried because… I don’t want you to be his rebound, Marinette. You deserve so much better.”
Her expression softened as she took Adrien’s hands. “Thank you for worrying about me, but you don’t need to. Chat Noir is a good, earnest man. If we have a baby together, he’s serious about me. He’s the kind of person who loves with everything he is and gives himself wholeheartedly.”
—
“Chat Noir would never forgive me if I didn’t take good care of his princess and their kitten.”
Marinette groaned. “Don’t you start. That nickname should have died the day it was born.”
“You like it when he calls you that.”
She quirked a skeptical eyebrow. “Oh?”
“You like the reminder that you’re special to him.”
—
“I abhor his father.” She blew out a sigh. “At least I know I can make things better for him.” She cast her son an adoring look. “I get to ensure he gets the family he’s always deserved.”
Adrien’s stomach swooped. He looked away as his face became unbearably hot. “Okay. Now you’re doing it to me.”
She tipped her head to the side. “Hm? Doing what?”
He made a vague gesture. “This. I’m a complete sucker for domestic fluff.”
—
“After he moved out, he could spend time with his friends as a civilian without sneaking around.”
“…He visits me as frequently as before.”
“You’re his favourite. He’s always visited you the most.”
Realization dawned upon her. “I have pastries at my house.”
He rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. “You have you at your house, Silly.”
—
“Now that maman is gone, I’ve got you all to myself.”
Louis giggled and squealed in delight.
“Daddy loves you,” Adrien whispered. “Daddy loves you so, so much.”
—
“…Do you still want three children, or was that a thirteen-year-old Marinette thing?”
“I’m not sure. I adore children, so I want at least two, but we’ll see how many I can handle when I’m responsible for them. …How about you? How many children do you want?”
Bashfully, he smiled, “As many as possible? It’d be good to have some and adopt a few more…just not more than I can care for. I can provide for a pack financially, but I don’t want to be like my father, just paying for things and considering my job done. The most important part of being a parent is spending time with your kids so they know they matter.”
—
Marinette slid an arm around his waist. He relaxed into her, tension fading as he rested his head against hers.
She gave the customer a bright smile and turned to Adrien to cheerfully ask, “Buttercup, why don’t you take a break?”
“At once, Beloved,” he dropped a kiss atop her head.
—
“…I like you getting possessive of me.”
“That wasn’t okay of me either. I don’t own you, Adrien. No one does.”
He thought for a moment. “You respect me and want the best for me. I’m more than a status symbol or a piece of eye candy or a bank account to you. So, I like it when you act possessive. It makes me feel safe and warm and cared about.”
—
“I heard once that enlightenment can be summed up as ‘when you’re hungry, eat. When you’re tired, sleep’. Maybe babies have it figured out.”
“Yeah, we could benefit from feeling our feelings more.”
Adrien gave his kwami a sideways look. “Oh? You too, Plagg?”
“Of course,” Plagg sniffed. “I shouldn’t hold back so much. I should complain when I want cheese more often and celebrate loudly when I have it.”
—
“What makes someone asexual is a lack of sexual attraction. Some asexuals enjoy sex. Some are indifferent, and some are repulsed by even the thought of it.”
Marinette considered him. “And you?”
“...The last one. It’s partly why I thought no one would want me as a partner.”
“That’s bull! Adrien, no one is entitled to sex. If anyone ever pressures you or makes you feel guilty for being ace, I’ll rip them a new one.”
Adrien couldn’t stop a deliriously happy grin nearly tearing his face in half. “Thank you, Marinette. I…really appreciate that. Still, I feel like—”
“No,” she insisted hotly. “Those are your people-pleasing, doormat tendencies talking. You should only ever have sex with someone if you want to. If anyone demands sex as a prerequisite to a relationship, they obviously don’t love you, and you shouldn’t be with them.”
“Thank you,” he responded in a small, humble voice.
“You’re welcome. I love you, and I want you to be happy. Be with people who respect you and prioritize your needs.”

Just because Madeline and Fontaine like to bully their brothers doesn't mean anyone else has the right to hurt them.

Sibling rule: you can call your sibling an idiot, but if anyone else does, they better get ready to throw hands.
—
Fontaine looked in time to see her brother shoved over the railing by the bully he insulted earlier. She wasn't prone to irrational acts of violence (save for towards Ant. He was begging for it mostly.), but now, her blood really started to boil. As much as she wanted to sock the bully right in the nose, she didn't, because as an older teen, it wouldn't be right to fight a child. Instead, she sprinted over and body-slammed him off the side of the ship. Turns out, he wasn't as accomplished a swimmer as her brother.
Herrera looked at the children in front of her: two sopping wet boys and an entirely unapologetic girl.
—
"You know... you didn't have to throw him overboard."
"I did," said Fontaine. "He deserved a taste of his own medicine."
"I know! But you could've gotten in huge trouble."
"So? No one gets to push you around but me."
Her brother broke into a grin, throwing an arm over her shoulder. "Aww, Fontaine! You care!"
"Get off! And duh. Unfortunately you're my little brother, so I gotta look out for you when you inevitably get into trouble. So if anyone messes with you, tell me."
Ant nodded, then said mischievously, "Even if it's Pirate Boy?"
Fontaine glared.
"It's okay. I know my oh-so-strong and loving sister will protect me from those nasty, ugly pirates," teased Ant.
—
Finn's weird excitement about learning something new was oddly sweet. Not that Maddie would say that to his face. She had a reputation to uphold as his annoying little sister, but it was satisfying to see the snooty rivals in his group look at him with respect.
For the most part, the rich snots stuck to backhanded remarks and patronizing glances. When Finn offhandedly mentioned this, she bristled on his behalf, demanding names. He told her not to worry, but she didn't believe that nonchalant grin he liked to hide behind.
One day, the conceited teens got a touch too bold with her brother right in front of her face. Like any good sister, she unleashed hell on them.
"Look, I don't know what backwater place you come from, but stick to your own people."
Finn, as always, continued smiling smugly.
The oaf moved to smack Finn's face, but the pirate siblings were quick. Finn dodged while Madeline lunged at the idiot who dared try attack her brother. There was fear in his eyes as an eleven year old flew at him with reckless abandon.
—
"Maddie," said Finn. "We can't draw negative attention to ourselves. What if they look into us?"
"Don't mean you can't stand up for youself," grumbled Madeline.
"I prefer the chill route, slipping under the radar," said Finn. But it was clear to Maddie that her brother was fighting to keep the unease from his expression as he glanced in the goofs' direction.
He patted her shoulder. "See ya, Mads. Stay out of trouble."
—
"You bone-heads better not think of messing with my brother!"
—
"Madeline," grimaced Fontaine. "You aren't supposed to be here."
"Neither are you," fired back the pirate child. She noticed the motor oil in Fontaine's hand and gasped, "Are you trying to sabotage someone?"
"Wha– No!" spluttered Fontaine. "Are you?" She nodded at the rope looped around Madeline's shoulder.
"Yes," answered Maddie shamelessly. "They were messing with me brother, so they deserve what's comin' to 'em."
Fontaine looked upset. "People are messing with Ant, too." She patted the bottle. "Guess I'm taking a page from you pirates, 'cause they don't get to pick on my brother, even if he is annoying."
While Madeline didn't care about the Nekton boy's well-being, she begrudgingly appreciated how they were on the same wavelength when it came to defending their brothers. She inwardly shuddered. It was weird to be thinking like a Nekton.
Fontaine struck a deal. "Look, if you protect Ant tomorrow, I'll look out for Finn."
Madeline scowled at the idea of being Ant's bodyguard. But the groups were divided by age... "Fine," she relented. She couldn't help but add, "I know you'll look after Finn really well."
—
The Dark Orca children approached the Nektons. Finn greeted, "Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Nekton. I see you'll be taking home a shiny new jet ski. Congrats."
"Thanks. But you better not steal it," warned Ant.
"Nah," Finn breezily waved off. "We'll just tell dad that you Nektons were here and stopped us after a ruthless encounter." He proudly held up a completion certificate, reminding them that he was still very much a child. "Besides, I still got a bit of treasure."
Madeline had nothing, but that was only because she hadn't applied herself. But she did come out with her hapless brother intact, so she'd consider that a win.
