Silence came first. A thick silence, laden with the dust of disintegrated plaster and the metallic echo of katanas that no longer clashed. Giyuu collapsed beside Tanjiro's unconscious body, clutching the remnants of his broken Nichirin Blade. In front of them, the torso that had fought with blind fury even without its head was beginning to dissolve into a fine, scarlet dust that smelled of withered lotus and rusted iron. They had won. The Simultaneous Decapitation, Tanjiro's Selfless State, his own sacrifice… it had all worked. Akaza was finally dead.
But then, Giyuu felt it.

Akaza visibly freezes and turns his head to look at Tomioka, his jaw slackening in disbelief. “You... you want to see me tomorrow night?”
Tomioka and Akaza meet under questionable circumstances one night and end up with a lot more than they had bargained for.
