Summary
All James planned was to sneak around for some evening potatoes after a long fucking round of try-outs. Really, that’s it. He’s in socks and boxers and a hoodie, intends to remain under the Cloak the entire time, and is going to eat so many potatoes he’ll get sick, just so Sirius stops prodding the knob of his wrist and saying, like an old crone, “Too skinny.” He wants to stop seeing the crushed expression on Connor Kelly’s face when he was replaced as seeker by a fantastic second year who might actually be able to counter Regulus, after some training. He wants to stop feeling the drop in his stomach that started when he heard the echoes of Sirius saying safe, safe last year as they made the list, and thought of Eli, who gave him a chance, who never played safe, and proceeded to kick Fez as well. They’ve got two new players, now. A new team to mold. A fresh start. James needs potatoes.
That is the plan, of course. But, like most of his plans, it all goes out the window because of Lily Evans.

Summary
Sirius Black is a rich snob. Remus Lupin works two minimum wage jobs to make ends meet. When they cross paths at the restaurant where Remus works as a waiter, it does not go well.
But then Sirius is disowned and disinherited after coming out as gay and he is forced to get a job at the same restaurant where Remus works. Then, life happens.

Remus has been abandoned too many times and is afraid of falling in love. He has resigned himself to the belief that he is better off alone because, in his experience, his chronic illness is too heavy a burden on everyone around him. Love just isn't meant for someone like him.Sirius has spent his entire life obsessed with romance and dreaming of finding a love like the movies. So when his abusive family tries to arrange a marriage for him, he decides to come out publicly to prevent it. He is subsequently cast out into the real world, which leads him to Remus.
Love, as it turns out, is a lot more complicated than the movies.
