Summary
Silver picks up the cup in front of him, a horribly tacky souvenir that’s chipped at the bottom and reads, “I VISITED CRIMSON CITY AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS STUPID MUG!” The warm ceramic feels good against his palm, though, and the bitter taste of the terribly weak but necessary coffee—thankfully without the grounds—soothes his throat enough for him to croak out, “It's awful.”
“Hehe! Isn't it just? There's a novelty to it, though, don't you think? A whole pot of coffee brewed with just a push of a button!”
The comfortable silence that follows eventually stretches to an uncomfortable one, and eventually to an unbearable one.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, Lilia awkwardly thumbs the lip of his own cup, eyes cast down and pensive, and says, “I should have told you this a long time ago: you have nothing to repay me for.”
(Or, after Lilia gets back, he and Silver unpack more than just a few boxes.)

“You sure we haven't met before?” Zenn asks, raising an eyebrow right along with a corner of her mouth. She knows it sounds like a bad pickup line, but she really does feel a tug of recognition at the back of her mind she can’t quite place.
“Think I’d remember if we did,” comes the snarky reply her neighbor at the bar gives her in return, to the point that Zenn can't tell if it's a compliment. She grabs the bottle in front of her—seriously, who the hell orders a bottle of wine at a dive bar?—nimble fingers curling around the ink-stamped label, and she downs another quarter of it in one go.
There's something deeply wrong with this woman, but Zenn can't tear her eyes away as she thumbs at the hanged man on the bottle. “Must just be my imagination, then,” she cedes.

Summary
The headline drops on a Thursday afternoon. By Sunday morning, Dakeshin’s been dumped, harassed by the media every time he's stepped outside, and yelled at for hours on the phone by shareholders and family members alike.
He stares at his phone again. All the screen time can't be good for him, especially when his attention has been oscillating between tabs of gossip outlets finding new and creative ways to word “Dakeshin: Prince of the Kaido Empire and Closet Queen?” and apology texts that his partner—ex-partner, he reminds himself—has left on read.
He doesn't blame anyone. They're just protecting their best interests, whether that's profit or personal privacy, all things that Dakeshin himself is now struggling to see in his own future. Really, the only person he has to blame is himself, for not being careful enough.
(A Kaido/Sugachi DWTS AU where Kaido, on the back foot, has to find a way to lead.)

Tricking Azul was always going to be a long shot, but his exasperated sigh as he looks between Jade and Floyd and pinches the bridge of his nose with a gloved hand is more than enough gratification to justify the effort.
Floyd—who’s polished up his appearance for the day—snickers, “Aw, c’mon, ya couldn't even humor us?”
“You both already do enough of that yourselves. You don't need me enabling you,” Azul chides. “Did you truly think I wouldn't be able to tell you two apart?”
“No, to be completely honest,” Jade says, a thin streak of black hair parted opposite the usual, the vest and blazer of his uniform fully open, bowtie draped around his neck. “But it did take you longer than I expected. Do we really look that similar?”
“You're twins,” Azul deadpans. “It’s also barely six in the morning, and I’m not wearing my glasses.” He pauses. “You’re not really planning on going about your day like this, are you?”
Neither of them respond, and he sighs heavily.

Riddle’s face burned bright red. “I- I'm like a hedgehog to you?” he stammered.
Trey chuckled low in his chest. “Only in the best ways. Smart, resilient, and spiky— but I also know you to be soft and sweet when you're given the chance.” He laid his hand on the ground near a pink hedgehog, which climbed up his hand and kept going up his arm. “See? Cute.”
“Hm.” Riddle rested his head on Trey’s shoulder, gently petting the hedgehog in his palm. “There’s nothing wrong with having spines. It protects them.”
“I agree. It's only a matter of understanding them and handling them properly.”
Trey had kept his word about being more honest with Riddle since his overblot, yet he'd also been more gentle than Riddle thought he deserved. Riddle swallowed hard, suddenly feeling exposed. “Is it difficult?” he asked, voice hushed. “Handling me?”
