    If one spore remains, the Mold will return. The Black God yet lingers, watched over by the BSAA, whose security of late bears a strong resemblance to Swiss cheese. But the greatest threat to it remains Rosemary Winters, whose powers are stirring from dormancy despite her best efforts to keep them contained.

    To remove this threat, it resurrects its greatest agent in the mortal world, Mother Miranda. But although her powers are great and her reach extends far, she still has the Hound Wolf Squad to contend with. A special-forces unit personally trained, mentored, and captained by none other than Chris 'Boulder-Punching' Redfield, who could and has challenged gods and survived to tell the tale. After events of previous years, she knows better than to confront them head on by herself.

    How is she to rid herself of these pests?

    Quite simple, really. Find the remains of Chris Redfield's oldest and most dangerous enemy, left eternally burning in the lava at Kijuju. Albert Wesker will make for a magnificent Lord, now that her former allies are lost to her.

    This is a brilliant plan, in Mother Miranda's humble opinion. What could possibly go wrong?

    “How about that. I win.” He was weak now, his body too heavy for him to hold up by himself. He was letting himself die faster on purpose, speeding up his own decay out of spite. Even his mind was weakening, enough that he couldn’t stop himself from asking, from hoping. “Will it stop, Doctor? The drumming. Will it stop?”

    His eyes slipped closed.

    “Regenerate!”

    The essence of pure time flooded his senses, blinding him even through his eyelids. The Master felt lighter and yet still weighed down all at once. Like death and life, dark and light merging into one. Then the golden light faded almost as quickly as it had arrived, and he felt himself fade with it.

    And then he woke up.

    Or: The Master doesn't die, and unfortunately learns that he is now capable of caring about other people. Bummer.

    The Doctor can finally have a peaceful, happy life … except of course he won’t be able to stay away and leave the Master in UNIT’s clutches for long, even if it only bodes trouble. When he finds the way to reverse the Master’s transformation, he’ll get the version of his arch-friend he’s been least expecting.

    As for the Master, he’ll have a hard time figuring out what the Doctor might want in return for his help. There must be something, right? There’s always a catch.

    A really well written fic. The characterization is wonderful, the mixed media is interesting and the plot is well paced. Overall a good read, would recommend to anyone interested in Project Hail Mary(both the movie and book).
