    Summary

They’ve had to split from the rest of the party in this castle dungeon, clearing out ghosts for some new family to move in. Vex and Vax obviously went together, with Pike tagging along with them. Grog and Scanlan, last Keyleth checked, have trooped down another path, in search of a rumored crypt of some famed bard belonging to the family who used to own this castle, now long since died out. That just leaves Percy, so Keyleth comes with him.

And a good thing she did, because now he is very badly hurt, eyes glowing dimly in the darkness. She knows humans shouldn’t be able to do that, shouldn’t have eyes that can see in the dark, but Percy is—strange, for a human. She sometimes wonders what happened to him, before Vex found him in that prison cell, because whatever it was, it did something to his body and to his mind.

Broke, she thinks, the word you’re looking for is broke.

At least the guy in Groundhog Day had a whole town to traipse through and twenty-four hours.

    Clover's got decidedly less.

    Or:

This is Clover's second, third, fourth, fifth Nonary Game, on and on with no end in sight. She can't help but end it with an axe in her hand. Until her brother is brought back from the dead, Clover has no interest in a life outside this game.

    Summary

He catches a glimpse of himself in the small mirror across the room.

It’s as if he’s been frozen in time. Nothing about him has changed since he last touched the surface of his home planet.

But of course, that’s not true. Everything has changed.

He doesn’t understand. He doesn’t know what this means. He’s a man of science. There are rules, immutable laws of the universe, no matter where in the universe one is. Entropy, decay, deterioration. Everything in the universe experiences it.

    Everything except him, it seems.

Or: While on Erid, Ryland Grace makes a startling realization: he seems to have stopped aging.

    Summary

The scars. Long streaks of gold, forked and jagged. It has to be the work of another god; no mortal could harm an Olympian like this. And if the bandages on her arm are any indication of the timeline, it has to be recent, a week ago at most—

A week ago when he’d screamed Athena’s name into the night, clinging to his last thread of hope, his last chance to escape.

“Zeus did this to you. When you asked for my release. Didn’t he?”

(or: after Athena comes to Odysseus's aid during Six Hundred Strike, he learns of what she did to get him home).

    Summary

“Dawww, aren’t you the most thoughtful little thing,” Hermes coos, pinching Odysseus’s cheeks until they hurt. He vaguely wonders how much strength the Olympian is holding back to refrain from tearing Odysseus’s face apart.

“I’m a grown man,” Odysseus grunts, trying (and failing) to pry Hermes’ hands off.

“And I’m thousands of years old! My little baby, that’s what you are.”

or; Hermes is sent to inform Odysseus that he has been granted permission to return home. Odysseus thinks that, once he's set sail, it'll be the last he'll see of the messenger. However, what he fails to realise is that, when earning the interest of an Olympian, that favour comes with a heavy price. Apparently, in this case, it means Hermes sticking around to see how long it takes before Odysseus throws himself into the water for some peace and quiet.
