Summary
Sirius would’ve liked to have been able to pretend like there wasn’t some magical oh moment. Like he’d always known, really, because of course, he wasn’t that unaware of . . . well, everything.
But there was an oh moment.
More accurately, there was an oh, shit moment, and then an oh, bloody buggering fuck moment followed by an embarrassingly long time of impressively vehement denial succeeded by semi-reluctant acceptance and then . . . horniness, mostly.

Will lets out a shaky gasp. "Mike."
Mike shivers. "Oh, fuck- don't."
"What?" he pants.
"Don't- don't say that."
"What? Mike?" Will asks in a low voice. Mike's hips jerk, and his dick twitches against Will's leg.
"Mm- mmhm." He hums into Will's shoulder.
"Oh. ...Oh. You like that."

It's the summer before their junior year of college, and it's just like any other. Except for the fact that Will is staying at the Wheelers', and Mike is starting to realize there are a lot of things he likes about having Will in his bed. Will's excuses of Mike just being "pent up" start to run out when Mike offers a solution to fix that.

Mike puts the car into park, but doesn’t tear his gaze away from the windshield. “Say it.”
Will splutters. “Say what?”
“Like we’re what, Will? Say it. Why do I make your boyfriend so nervous?”
“You’re being a jerk.” He looks down and picks at a loose thread on his sweater.
Mike is being a jerk, but he’s just tired. And Will is here in Mike’s car in the middle of nowhere, protected by the growing darkness of the evening, and goddamnit, Mike wants to hear him say it. He wants to hear Will say Mike isn’t better.
Or: Mike and Will have been Mike and Will for sixteen years. Mike is not going to Will let someone else ruin that.

“Mike,” Will had said to him, voice calm despite how hard it was for him to even make a sound. He didn’t try to sit up, but Mike wasn’t sure he could, even if he wanted to. “I need you to kill me.”
Mike shook his head, holding Will closer to his chest.
“Mike, please.” Will pleaded, closing his eyes against the light, or perhaps it was too much effort to keep them open. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t,” Mike whispered, surprised at how vulnerable he sounded, at the shake and utter defeat in his voice. “You won’t kill me, Will. Because we’re the same. We can’t hurt each other, even at the end of the world.”

It's been three years since the start of the zombie apocalypse and Mike is finally returning home. He discovers that not only is he not the sole survivor of Hawkins, but that his friends and sister are alive, too. As he begins to reconnect with them, the tension between them begins to increase, and Mike doesn't know how long he can stay with them.
Because while some of the group are more than happy to have him around, others don't like the company he keeps...

“I would never.” The response is instant. “You’re strong. I’d never pity you. I… god, how do I explain?” Mike turns his body to face Will head on and grabs his hand properly. Will feels a shiver run through him, but he squeezes back all the same. “I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry, for what you’ve been through, whatever it is. But it would never, never make me look at you differently.”
“Promise?”
“I promise."

“What!” It was Will’s turn to blush harder, giving him a glare reserved for Mike Wheeler and Mike Wheeler only. “No. God. That was ages ago. I’ve been past that for a long time.”
Mike motioned like he’d made his point. “See? So? It wouldn’t be weird.”
So, Mike likes guys. Fine, Will can live with that. Except now Mike's worried about having fallen behind and would really like some help practicing how to kiss a guy from his also-into-guys best friend.
