Zeal was married to his work. Kaelix, ever-patient and hopelessly romantic, filled the silence with heart-shaped cookies and soft music, waiting by the window like a silk-draped daydream for his husband.

“You smoke, Kae?” Zeal asks, amusement dancing in his voice.
Kaelix shakes his head quickly, “I don’t really drink or smoke. I’ve tried drinking, not a big fan.” Kaelix fake blenches. “But smoking? My parents would kill me.”
At the sight of Zeal inhaling the smoke from the end of the cigarette, Kaelix is entranced by the languid yet graceful way Zeal exhales a steady stream of smoke, unbothered and relaxed.

Summary
It's said that every Arborist had a monster living inside of them - a pitiful, ugly creature that was constantly searching for a Bloom. Its obsession often manifested as an untamable rage, sometimes hunger, in other cases, a manic desire to possess, to consume.
The one where Kaelix, a Bloom, meets Zeal, an Arborist - or would it be more accurate to say that the latter finds him instead?
