Summary
After the Merge, multiple merge-quakes in different sizes come to cause chaos on what it had already left. the world is stitched from fragments that were never meant to touch. For Lloyd, the legendary green ninja of ninjago, it means waking in a land of blackpowder and marching boots, far from Ninjago and the ones he swore to protect. For Karl, officer of the Garde zu Fuß regiment, it means guarding a stranger who seems more dream than soldier.
The blight spreads, the regiment marches, and promises must be made. Yet in the quiet between duty and dawn, something else begins—slow, careful, impossible. Like tea steeping in the cold of war, trust, and perhaps even a deeper form of affection, take root.Author's note: This is literally the first fanfiction I've ever wrote in years. So I don't really know what I'm doing most of the time. Oh and also, this was a Crackship I made as a joke while playing the game. I do t think it's a joke anymore though

None of the other members of Les Amis de L'ABC truly comprehend the instantaneous spark of passion that bound Grantaire to Enjolras's orbit, nor are they likely to understand why Enjolras is so particular in his vituperation of this one, singular unbeliever in their midst. Enjolras may insist that this is because none of them were there when he met the man, but in the time since, they have seen enough of their disagreements that one and all are just as certain that they will never understand as they are certain that Grantaire will never leave Enjolras's side.
"Ha! Grantaire was your name? I shall like to know you better. But if you will take my counsel -- never let Enjolras understand you have a purpose other than revolution. He will not abide you."
"Then he will not abide me, for I am honest to a fault."

Summary
Grantaire may be an artist by trade, but he has never once depended on it for any sort of wages, liveable or otherwise. However, when a Mademoiselle Fauchelevent commissions him to paint a figure he has drawn hundreds of times before, Grantaire could not find it in himself to refuse.
Meanwhile, Enjolras and Cosette find the chasm between them growing wider. But as Enjolras draws further away, Cosette tries to reach closer— with devastating consequences.
Or; Enjolras and Cosette are siblings in 19th century France. As Cosette's wedding continues to approach, portraiture becomes the least of their worries.

In Which Grantaire Is Forced At Last To Test His Dedication To The Pursuit Of Revelry, An Extensive Carriage Trip Is Made, and A Blizzard Rolls Across Calais
“You are staring once again, Grantaire,” Enjolras murmurs.
“I am not,” Grantaire lies. Falsehood now comes easier than breathing to a man like Grantaire. Enjolras’ lips are blush pink at the edges and bruise-purple towards the interior. How would the merlot taste, licked from Enjolras’ mouth, the seat of his power?
“There is a fellow with the most peculiar of hairstyles sitting behind you and the oddity of such a such a sight simply begs for me to look upon it.”
Enjolras rolls his eyes and says nothing. They drink like that for a while, sharing silence between them. Grantaire exchanges wine for beer and spirits and back again. Grantaire glances across and catches the flutter of blonde hair in the corner of his eye.

Summary
Once, when he was very young, Enjolras had thought that Hitler was like the sun. Now, as he stares vacantly at the smoke shrouding the chimneys emerging from the camp, he thinks that this is what Hitler truly is—he is the smoke rising from burnt corpses and he is the lingering smell of death in the air that Enjolras will feel every day for the rest of his life. This is what it comes down to, in the end—thousands, maybe millions of people dead and more to follow, all because Germany had watched Hitler but had not seen and it had heard him but had not listened. Ignorance is not an apology - at this stage Enjolras doesn’t fool himself into believing there is any way they will ever be able to apologize for all that has happened - but it is an explanation, even though it solves nothing and does not bring back the dead.
He does not weep then and he does not break and beg for forgiveness—but that night is the first of many where Grantaire will do nothing but hold him as broken sobs wreck his body.
(Or, A Book Thief AU that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike The Book Thief.)

Grantaire dug into his coat for his pocketbook. “Will you at least take some money?” He emptied the contents into his palm and held it forward to the gamine.
She stared at his hand, then back up at his face. She seemed to stand in indecision for a moment – but only a moment. Lunging forward, she snatched up the coins. After she’d tucked them into the waistband of her skirt, she fixed her gaze on him and jutted out her chin defiantly.
“If we meet again,” she said. “I don’t owe you nothin’. Got it? This ain’t a favour, it’s charity. No strings attached to charity.”
Grantaire’s face stretched into an amused grin. “As you wish, m’lady. Charity it is.” However, even as he conceded to this characterization of the act, he ventured to ask her name. “May I know what they call you, Mamzelle?”
“Éponine,” she said distractedly, as she adjusted her waistband once more and gave it a satisfied pat.
Grantaire opened his mouth to express his pleasure at making her acquaintance – but Éponine had already turned and was loping away.
