"You feel tense," he says lowly.
"...A bit." You force yourself to sound casual despite the shiver threatening to creep up your spine. You slowly lower the crossbow. "I'm guessing you are too? If you're here, I mean."
He hums. "I suppose," he says lightly. (He had looked a bit worn down when he looked at you earlier.) His hand stops moving and you feel him lean closer, breath hot on your ear and voice low. "Need to release some of that tension? Blow off some steam, maybe?"
Lohen catches the way your breath hitches, and the way you go rigid under his light touch.
"You make for great prey, as we just discussed."

Summary
The city has been swallowing girls lately. Young ones, vanishing without a trace. Streets that should feel familiar twist into alleys of danger. Patrol cars idle at every corner now. Questions are asked, posters go up. The case grows teeth. And still, the girls keep disappearing. You've managed to survive, unnoticed, small enough to pass through the cracks. Until one night, you stumble across something you shouldn't have.
