Yue Qingyuan misses his next step, almost rolling his ankle like an amateur. He stops, if only for the shock of the statement. It takes as entire moment for Yue Qingyuan to connect the fool to Shen Qingqiu, the omega to himself. For no reason at all he can feel his cheeks reddening.
It's an inappropriate thing to say in general about two unmated individuals. Even without involving the wildly inappropriate sentiment that Shen Qingqiu would not appreciate— that he and Yue Qingyuan were-
Still, when Yue Qingyuan hears it, he cannot bear to feel offended in Shen Qingqiu's stead. Yue Qingyuan is a failure in many things, first and foremost of failing to save Shen Qingqiu, but his next failure is in being a proper omega in any way at all. For someone to say that Shen Qingqiu would—or should— find him appealing is— wrong— but flattering, even for how wrong it is.

Summary
Shen Jiu, after a lengthy moment of basking in Qi-ge, shifts up to scent him too. He places his nose in the juncture of Qi-ge's throat and chest and rubs. Yue Qi doesn't tense up, not the way whores do when an alpha tries this sort of thing with them. Yue Qi's only tensed once while being scented like this, and that's when a slaver had done it and Shen Jiu had chased the man off him not long after, though he'd suffered a bad beating for it, after which Yue Qi asked him to never behave in that way again. Shen Jiu had only asked him to not allow himself to be scented by anyone but Shen Jiu, and Qi-ge now only allows the youngest pups to scent him, though Shen Jiu discourages them from it. Thoroughly.
After a long time, Yue Qi murmurs, "Xiao Jiu shouldn't get into so many fights."

Summary
Shen Qingqiu and his disciples are sent by the Cang Qiong Mountain Sect to investigate a string of teenage girl suicides in Qiu Cheng City. As the investigation continues he finds himself trapped in a sequence of shared dreams that may either reveal the key to stopping the suicides, or claim him as the next victim.

Shen Qingqiu tries to fix the past. Yue Qingyuan doesn’t know how to stop l̶o̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶ enduring, and it fixes nothing.
