He blinks, the young Emperor clearly not expecting that answer. He rallies, his voice taking on a new tone, “And did you find one, Secretary Zhang?”
A not entirely pleasant shiver slides through Yizhi, leaving his toes curling in his shoes, and a cold heavy feeling in his stomach, but looks from his own hand against the glass to the gold of Qin Zheng’s half-mask, feels a determination lock into place, born of a darker kind of wanting than what he’s playing at having. “I think I have.”

Summary
