    Summary

I was only his second choice. Freckled, mousy, short; not to mention from a working-class family. A family who could trace their roots back to the Mayflower, who had lost all English charm. We were now part of the growing population of 'Americanized Mutts', and I was too headstrong with not enough beauty to match. So what could a prestigious Scottish Lawyer see in me that was suitable for marriage?

...My stomach was turning with nerves as I slipped into a soft cotton nightgown.

“Are you well, leannan?” Roderick asked from the other side of the dressing screen, seemingly aware of my stalling.

I swallowed hard. “Y-yes,” I responded, slowly stepping out from behind the French screen. I wrapped my arms around myself, very much aware of the new white linen I wore. The shadow of my body could be seen, no matter how still I stood.

Standing cowardly near the screen, I watched as Roderick folded his kilt and laid it gently upon his dresser, his back to me. I took the time to part my hair and cover the shadows of my breasts and folded my hands over my front. I took another shaky breath. After this night I would no longer be pure, and I would be a woman...

    Summary

    House Dellamorte is cursed.

Or so the whispers go. An entire bloodline nearly extinguished in a single, brutal night—slaughtered without mercy, leaving only the First Talon and her two young grandsons behind.
How does a House survive such ruin? How does it breathe through grief thick enough to drown?

Caterina wears their loss like armor; choosing pain, choosing punishment, over pyres. Lucanis maps the secrets of the house, quiet and watchful, already half in shadow. Illario, charismatic and angry, finds the questions he longs to ask dead on his tongue.

A character study of House Dellamorte, tracing the shadows cast in the years before Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Content warnings: mentions of abuse, canon-typical violence, mentions of child abuse.

This was written as part of the Dragon Age Big Bang and was illustrated by Slytherkins .

    Summary

It was a casual, nothing of a smile, but it was warm and human and, after a year of nothing but cold eyes and cruel hands, it threatened something load-bearing in his heart.

Spite rattled in his bones as he dropped his gaze.

Lightning and Lavender oil. Hearth smoke and Honey.

Mierda, Spite. A demon in my head I can handle, but an amateur poet? That might kill me.

    She Smells good.

    Summary

Something is afoot in Antiva. Following the fall of the Evanuris and the annual Dellamorte Satinalia gala, the Merchant Princes have gone silent. News from Antiva City? Quiet as the grave. Suddenly, Merchant Princes and King Fulgeno II’s bastards alike begin turning up dead across Thedas, silver ribbons affixed to their throats. Per volontà del Creatore, l'Unico Re di Antiva regnerà, poiché questo è il Diritto Divino dei Re. By the will of the Maker, the One King of Antiva will rule, for this is the Divine Right of Kings.

But everyone knows that the Crows rule Antiva– so when Eighth Talon Calliope Arainai turns up dead with a familiar silver ribbon adoring her throat, the message, and the threat, is clear.
