Wei Ying was in love with his best friend who didn’t love him that way
The hell of it was, Lan Zhan had never shown interest in anyone, and Wei Ying had finally accepted that he just…wasn’t into that kind of thing.
That was okay.
Lan Zhan might not want Wei Ying back, but they were best friends, roommates, coworkers, and practically constant companions. If only Wei Ying didn't sit beside Lan Zhan for several hours a week, listening to him talk about sex in that smoked-velvet voice of his.
Wei Ying had only himself to blame for that, though.
It had begun, as so many of Wei Ying’s most notable decisions– good and bad– as a joke. He’d been trying to be obnoxious in response to someone being rude, and maybe just a little trying to get a rise out of Lan Zhan, while he was at it.

Hi. So, this is going to sound weird, but I need an outside perspective. My roommate (23M) is an artist, and I (26M) just found his sketchbook on the coffee table. Normally, I wouldn’t snoop, but it was open, and curiosity got the better of me. And… every single page is a drawing of me.
But here’s the kicker—they’re… uh… anatomically precise. And by that, I mean nude. Very nude. Extremely detailed. Here’s the thing: we’re roommates and technically dating, but he has never seen me naked. At least not that I’m aware of??modern au hualian roomates to married .....

But as Hanguang Jun approaches, Wei Ying loses the battle against his eyes, and allows himself to look just a little bit.
The man is gorgeous. There’s no other word for it. His face looks like it was perfectly sculpted by a talented artist, not to mention the definition of his body. The leggings he wears show the leg muscles of someone who has probably been doing some form of acrobatics ever since they were a kid, and his arms are huge under his t-shirt. Huge. He’s just as tall as Wei Ying is, but his fit body makes him look shorter, somehow. Wei Ying swallows again, wondering if he has ever seen anyone who looks more like the ideal of beauty in his life.
And then the man starts talking.
