Which goes somehow worse than what one might expect for it to go. And then Arthur wakes up; and there's a black serpent coiled on his bed. And then Merlin is bursting through the doors...

Summary
When Arthur returns, it is to a world changed. One that utilizes magic as the tool that it is and one that has embraced the concept of bonds more powerful than death itself.
Soulmates are an interesting concept in theory so it’s really a shame that Arthur appears to have been exempted from the selection.A slice of life series about Arthur’s return/adjustment to a modern world where magic is legal and normalized and soulmates can be identified by the connecting thread in their chest.

Summary
Never in his royal tutelage was he told what to do when slimy, slithering men insinuate that he seeks company that isn’t his husband. Why did no one think to prepare him for this?
“Your silence betrays your guilt, Pendragon,” Rodreck grins, and then raises his hands in placation. “Don’t worry, we certainly won’t tell. It’s only natural to have a few sweet things tucked away. A squire here, a stableboy there, a handful of whores when the mood calls for it.”

In which Arthur has to sit through yet another feast when he would rather be with Merlin, only this one is made much worse when his guests begin asking questions about his consort, and then about his loyalty to said consort. What follows after the feast is a collapse onto the bed as Arthur spends the rest of his night in Merlin’s arms.
