A storm shrouds Jing Yuan’s shoulders. He smells like wind and lightning, like rain on a sunny day, like dark soil and the life that blooms from it. He smells like… like the Luofu, that very first time Dan Heng stepped into the sunlight, that very first time he beheld the world with his own eyes.
Saliva fills his mouth. His stomach churns now as it did back then, trepidation warring with a longing so sudden and fierce that Dan Heng can’t think of anything else. This feeling—it can’t be anything else.

Jing Yuan is less interested in Blade’s question than in the fact that Blade is climbing into the bed. With him.

“Good point.” The Traveler stretched, arms held high and yawn loud. Which was stupid. There were several weak points that could be exploited like that, especially with the smooth expanse of his skin on display.
