Summary
Eddie has just walked through the door when he finds out. Just completed another long, exhausting day of ferrying people across town, out into the suburbs, to and from the airport. He's just arrived home when his world comes crumbling down.
OR

Summary
“Which is why, I was telling dad he should just ask you.” Chris finishes his story, looking over at Eddie with raised eyebrows before turning back to look at Buck.
“Ask me what?” He asks, looking at Eddie and raising an eyebrow in question.
Eddie eventually groans and tosses his napkin on top of his now empty plate. “Jesse’s mom was chaperoning the dance on Friday. And now that she’s got two kids with broken bones at home, she had to back out. PTA said we were right at the number of chaperones required per kid.”
OR
Christopher's Valentine's Day dance needs an extra chaperone, so Buck steps in. Fluff ensues.

Summary
They’ve got a routine now, on Eddie’s gray days. All Eddie has to do is send a less than one word text - a one emoji text to be exact - when Eddie knows it’s going to be A Day, capital ‘A’, capital ‘D’. No matter what plans Buck had that day, they are immediately canceled so that Eddie has an Evan Buckley at his door within a few hours.
OR
Eddie still struggles from time to time. A 5+1 fic on how his family helps him through it, and how Eddie deals with the aftermath of a gray day himself.

Summary
“Three minutes and seventeen seconds,” Buck heard Eddie correct, but it sounded almost like his partner was underwater, a weird emptiness to his voice. He turned towards Eddie quickly before glancing back down at the cards on the table.
“Did you see anything?” Mehta questioned, not picking up on the growing discomfort about the topic at hand like Eddie and Rosen were next to him. “Bright light?”
“Uh, well I saw that while I was still on the ladder.”

Summary
He knows he was at the controls. He knows that there’s something he’s missing here. He realizes what it is as his eyes follow the extension of the ladder up and over. Sees it hanging on by a - thankfully - double and triple check secured harness.
OR
Eddie's thoughts while climbing the ladder to reach Buck, the ambulance ride that follows, and immediately after Buck arrives at the hospital.

Summary
The San Dimas display was convenient for both Eddie and Chris. It was one of the only drive-through Christmas light displays in Los Angeles, and it was all synced up to music. It had definitely entertained a seven year old Chris, and somehow was still entertaining to a twelve year old Chris five years later.
This year, though, Chris didn’t want to keep it to just him and Eddie. He wanted to bring Buck along.OR
Eddie (finally) invites Buck to join in one of his favorite Diaz Christmas traditions, and also is a little bit brave.

Summary
The plan is simple, really: hang mistletoe in convenient places around the station but then everyone else besides for Buck and Eddie avoid them so that they can finally get their heads out of their asses.
OR
Hen and Chim (mostly Chim) meddle (positively) in Buck and Eddie's relationship. Obviously nothing goes to plan

Summary
It’s not often that he and Eddie work different shifts these days, but Chris’ school had gone to the planetarium on a field trip the day before and Bobby had only been able to give one of them the day off to chaperone. Eddie had told Bobby to give the day off to Buck without hesitation, walking out of Bobby’s office before Buck could even pick his jaw up off the floor.

Summary
Eddie can hear the beginning chords of a new song playing over the loudspeakers, and something in him snaps in the best way as he gets up from the bench. Buck looks up at him confused, and Eddie realizes that this is one of only a handful of times where Buck’s ever had to look up at him.
“Can I have this dance?” Eddie asks as he extends his hand out to Buck. A shy smile crosses Buck’s face before the younger man places his hand in Eddie’s, his other eventually drifting to Eddie’s waist as Eddie’s free hand finds a home on Buck’s shoulder.
OR
Eddie and Buck slow dance at Maddie and Chimney's wedding. Set in a nebulous post S5 timeline.

Summary
He has just arrived for his shift, barely sat down at his station, when everything goes to hell.
The first thing he realizes when he regains his bearings is that he’s under his station, immediately looking up and across from him for Maddie, and next to him for May, to make sure they were both okay. Maddie had been back at dispatch barely a month - and only a few days full-time - and May was still a kid, barely 19. If there was one thing Eddie knew how to do, it was keep his friends and family safe.

Summary
“I - uh. I don’t want to invite anyone else.” Eddie says, voice barely above a whisper, “I was hoping it could be just us? We can go out for drinks, or grab dinner? We can go out! You and me?” he says, simultaneously getting more nervous and more confident as he keeps blabbering. He doesn’t stop until Buck’s fingers lace through his, giving a gentle squeeze, ducking his head and laughing softly before answering.
“I could go for dinner.”

A collection of conversations between Buck and Eddie that have been missing since season 4.
Canon compliant through (most of) 4x14. From there, definitely aspects that are canon compliant, but not 100%.
