Summary
After the role he played in Vox's plan, Lucifer's depression is at an all time low. The nightmares get worse, and he wonders why anyone bothers to have him around anymore. Shockingly, he gets help from the most unlikely source, namely a certain Radio Demon who has begun to act a little strange around him as of late. He thinks he can handle what's in store for him. He thinks that with Alastor's help, he can maybe start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everything started to feel so easy.
At least, until certain feelings got in the way.

Soap invites Ghost over to his parents' house to celebrate New Year's Eve with him. All the while, Soap debates whether or not he should confess his feelings towards him. He does, but Ghost has something he needs to confess, as well.

Soap starts to feel like he's slowly being replaced in Ghost's heart, now that Roach has joined the 141. It takes him a while longer to realize why he's getting jealous over it, however.
Meanwhile, Roach is done with Ghost's emotionally-stunted bullshit and tries his best to help his friend out. He also tries to help out Soap, for better or for worse.

“I do hope you're not using me as a distraction to avoid more important things,” he admonished, his attention briefly snagging on an article about a promised interview on Vox's talk show where the TV demon swore he would be revealing 'never before heard information' about the Radio Demon.
That could prove problematic.
“What more important things?” Lucifer muttered against his neck, his hands starting to roam over the hard planes of the demon's chest, slipping down to his hips and trying to find their way under his long coat once more. Alastor's grin widened, his ears perked towards the door to ensure nobody was about to walk in on this quite public display.

Alastor swept downstairs after the requisite fifteen minutes had passed, only somewhat apprehensive about the fact that when he went down, his relationship with the king was no longer going to be a secret.
As far as secrets went, it was one of the worst kept ones he'd ever been involved in, but the sentiment remained.
No longer some tawdry game they were playing, stealing time away with each other – no, from where this had started...
It had certainly come a long way.

Alastor stood at the top of the staircase, slowly looking from left to right down the long hallway.
Where to go?
Having this discussion in his own rooms would give him the security of being in his own territory, but if it ended up devolving into a fight, he didn't particularly want his possessions destroyed. Though - if he went to Lucifer's rooms, what sort of message did that send?
Would that give the other man the impression that Alastor was willing to crawl back, despite everything?
He was overthinking it, certainly – it wasn't as though he was going to throw himself onto Lucifer's bed, or at his feet, or throw himself anywhere at all, for that matter. He still hadn't quite recovered from his several rough nights in a row, and the idea of catapulting his body in any direction was decidedly unpleasant.

Summary
There wasn't anything particularly noteworthy in today's news – at least, not on the page that Alastor had yanked the paper open to – so when Charlie sat across from him with her meagre breakfast and let out a groan, Alastor raised a brow, lowering the paper just enough to shoot her a querying glance.
“'Radio Demon Rampage' – Alastor, did you really have to?” she asked in disappointment, and he flipped the paper closed, finally taking in the headline.
Goodness, but reporters were quick these days, weren't they?
