Summary
The moment Zanka came to, he was met with fluorescent lights beating down on him. He groaned the moment he saw them, the sudden brightness far from wanted. He quickly closed his eyes, head turning to the left and pressing into the pillow beneath him. He tried to turn onto his side in hopes he could get into a comfier position and rest a little more, but a sharp stab of pain shot through his side and he knew it wasn't worth it.

“Swap with me,” Mai says in lieu of greeting. Her face is shoved way too close to the camera, batting her eyelashes as if that’ll somehow convince Toge to agree.
“Mom set me up on a blind date with her friend’s son, and I want you to go there instead of me,” she adds, ending the call before Toge can even process what just happened.
Immediately, he opens his chat with Mai to tell that he absolutely is not going, only to discover that she’s already blocked him. Preemptive measures, probably. Mai unfortunately knows his antics far too well.
Or; Toge goes on a blind date as a stand-in for his friend, and it turns out to be the best mistake he’s ever made.

Summary
After years of emotional and physical abuse from his family, Zanka finally runs away with nothing except the clothes on his back and the belief that he’s difficult to love. Quiet, anxious, and completely unfamiliar with affection, Zanka expects the world outside his home to hurt him just as badly.
Instead, he meets Enjin.
Enjin takes Zanka in and slowly becomes the stable parental figure he never had, giving him a place to sleep, food to eat, and patience he doesn’t know how to handle. But healing isn’t easy when fear has shaped your entire life.
Then there’s Jabber.
Six feet tall, constantly smelling like smoke and weed, loud-mouthed, rough around the edges, and impossible to ignore, Jabber feels like chaos in human form. He talks with sharp humor, hides his emotions behind teasing, and acts like nothing in the world can touch him. But the second he notices the bruises Zanka hides and the way he flinches at raised voices, something in him changes.
What starts as awkward late-night conversations and accidental comfort slowly turns into something deeper.
For the first time in his life, Zanka experiences safety

Summary
Zanka's getting real sick of Jabber having the upper hand. No matter the occasion, no matter what area, the Raider always seemed to be one step ahead. And it seemed like it was going to stay that way.
At least, until a strange encounter reveals one of Jabber's potential weaknesses. Gentle affection.
This was Zanka's chance. He could finally get one over on Jabber. If it weren't for one tiny problem. Zanka's own weakness: these strange, soft feelings he's been having for Jabber.
But it's fine. All he has to do is suppress them, squish them down. Out of sight, out of mind. He was going to get a win against Jabber, a win that counted.
You see, in spite of everything, Zanka hasn't exactly learned to stop being arrogant.
It'd be fine. He can do this. Jabber won't ever have to know about these feelings.

Summary
The first line addresses the recipient, but the name had been scored out so harshly Zanka can feel the indents through the back with a pass of his thumb. The first word is most certainly Dear, and he can just about make out an a and what falls between an m and an n in the next one, but anything else is a lost cause.
My name has an a at the start, his thoughts supply, there's an n next to that.
His rational side doesn't bother to brush it off as a simple coincidence, and he feels his heart stammer in his chest.
After leaving his window open to sleep, a mysterious love letter finds its way into Zanka's hands. The name of whoever it's addressed to is unintelligible, but that doesn't stop him from getting his hopes up, especially when the contents start to sound strikingly similar to Jabber's words from the past.
