It takes maybe ten minutes for the man to return to consciousness, blinking rapidly and groaning. He raises an arm and lets it flop onto his face, blocking out the sunlight. “Fuck,” the man whispers, and then starts gagging.
When the man has finished figuratively coughing up his lungs and literally coughing up water, he blinks up at Techno with a dazed sort of expression. The mer-turned-human waves with an un-finned, un-clawed, spindly hand, and bares dull teeth in the way that humans do when they smile. “You good, man?”
“Fuck,” the man says again, emphatically. Techno frowns.
“I didn’t think you were down there long enough to get brain damage.”

Phil stayed quiet in the box and looked down to fighters on the sand. A piglin hybrid with a trident batted the sword of a cat hybrid away and knocked her to the ground. She stared up at him, and the piglin looked to a human in finer armour standing to the side. He nodded, and he stepped back, pulling the trident away from the neck of the cat hybrid.
In his memory, these had been soldiers he’d asked to see more of, but looking at this with the experience of a lifetime, he could see that there were no avians down on the sand, and most of the fighters were wearing collars. Phil glanced around the room. Awful lot of the non-avians in the box were wearing collars too. He tucked his chin into his chest. So he was a child again, and he was a child in a city that kept slaves. Fuckin’ fantastic.
A rabbit hybrid in a red tunic came over with a plate of little snack foods. She offered it to him. “A snack, young master?” She was wearing a collar too.
He did not feel like food. “No, thanks,” Phil said, shaking his head without emerging from his huddle.
Or: Philza gets sent back to his childhood and finds it's fucked up. What could make this worse? Oh, oh finding that Techno is in danger, that's just great.

Okay so shapeshifting into The Crow was objectively a bad idea, but on the other hand, he got to literally wear a mask in public and nobody was saying his real name. He could mess up, and it was like a whole different guy had messed up! Social anxiety life hack, simply do not be yourself when you make mistakes and then you won’t make mistakes. Technoblade had even spent a couple evenings at home in the shapeshift, eating everything in his fridge, and the wounds he’d presented with had slowly closed up. He’d washed the blood out of the suit too. His bathtub had looked like someone had died. It barely even hurt to be a superhero any more, and no one had said his name in a tone of confused condemnation in like a week. They’d said The Crow’s name, admittedly, but that hardly counted.
Someone burst through the front door of the coffee shop, face pale. “There’s a kid stuck up on a ledge on the fourth floor, does anybody got a ladder?”
Every eye in the coffee shop turned to look at the superhero standing at the milk and sugar cart with his drink. Techno gulped. “Uh, hi,” he said.
Or: Technoblade is a secret shapeshifter who's just realized that superheros get free food. Hijinks ensue.

Techno whirls around. Under the tree sits a creature clad in green robes; three-headed and triple-winged. A thick halo of silver hangs above it, and a mask with deep engravings shields its face.
“Where am I?” Techno asks it. He feels disoriented, dizzy from the fresh air.
"Limbo," the creature says. "It’s a kind of afterlife. I made it for you."
“It’s a void,” Techno says. “It’s uncreative.”
"I created it to eternally torment you," the creature clarifies.
Techno looks around him and sees sunny clean air as far as he can see. He tilts his head and says nothing.
"The famed blood god himself," the creature hums, "destined to an eternity of empty void and peaceful field, all on his lonesome. Ironic, isn’t it? I thought it rather clever."
Ironic enough, Techno thinks. He holds his silence.

[Or: Technoblade dies. His limbo is an empty island in the midst of a void, meant as an unpeaceful rest for an unpeaceful soul. He finds himself happy there, despite everything.]

“Oh my fucking god.” Phil says, concern turning sharp. “You’re actively bleeding? Is it bleeding badly?”

“You’re early, I’m not scheduled to go on today,” a voice said.
Phil looked around, eyes widening. He was in a medium-sized room, much smaller than the barracks he’d been stored in for the last three months since he’d been brought in. Also unlike the barracks, this place had an actual braided rug on the floor, a small bookcase by the head of the bed, and what looked like a quilt on the bed. There was a man sitting on the bed—a piglin hybrid by the looks of the height, the pink hair and the tusks—reading. He didn’t look up from the book.
“What now, you’re gonna tell me plans change?” He turned a page on the book, exaggeratedly slow.
There was a chain that connected his wrist to the wall. Phil cleared his throat. “Uh, no, no problems here, just checking in on shit, you alright there, mate?”
The man looked up, his eyebrows flying upwards. “Am I alright?”
Shit. He shoulda gone with the abusive guard angle. Even in the uniform he’d pulled off the man he’d knocked out, maybe he wasn’t perfect at impersonating people. Committed now, though.

Look, Phil was many things -he was adventurous, impulsive, a thrill chaser. One thing he wasn't, however, was stupid.
He knew humans weren't the safest species to be around, especially when they felt threatened. They had gained their reputation for a reason, and Phil had heard one too many stories about their prowess and resilience in a fight to not believe every single ounce of said reputation being based on truth.
So yeah, many people would take one look at the human currently laying on one of the cots in Phil's infirmary and immediately run away, all the while calling him a '"fool of a person who's just asking to be gruesomely murdered in the most painful way possible."

Tommy is a big man. This is a long-established fact, one that everyone knows because he’s just that cool. No one is a bigger man than he is, except maybe his dad, but that’s okay. Philza Minecraft is the bravest man Tommy has ever met.
So yes, Tommy is a big man, but he is not a big brother. He’s actually the youngest of his friend group, a few months behind Tubbo and Ranboo in age, and he likes it that way. He is the absolute biggest man, but he also likes that the adults baby him the most because he’s so young. He doesn’t want to give that up.
But his dad has come home with two new brothers. Tiny babies that smell a lot like stinky water, and Tommy decides very quickly that he hates them. He doesn’t want to have to share his dad.
He'll soon change his mind, of course.

The cold hits him like, well, like ice water. For a moment all he sees is the spray of air bubbles swimming around him, and a school of frantic fish diving between his sleeves and pants. His eyes blink rapidly, trying to blink away the salt that burns in them. He also tries to blink away the pink blur that swims in his vision.
Only, it doesn’t go away. Instead, as his eyes get used to the water and the salt, the blur sharpens into something vaguely humanoid. Pink hair floats around the creature, framing his face and silver frills of his ears. Rough scales mark his cheeks, similar to the pattern on the tail that extends from his torso down. It shines subtly in the diffused light, gleaming blue and green and red. There is a pale, ghostly tinge to his skin.
The mermaid blinks, sharp teeth poking out from his lip, a struggling mackerel in his clawed hand.
