Summary
Being a beta would explain some of Johnny’s attitude towards him. Maybe he feels like he has to prove himself. Maybe he feels threatened by Gheorghe’s status. Gheorghe doesn’t throw his weight as an alpha around lightly, but he will put Johnny in his place if need be. Just because Gheorghe is a guest on the Saxby's property and a hired hand for their business doesn’t mean he will put up with Johnny slagging him off.
(Gheorghe tries to ignore the curling claws in his mind, in the pit of his stomach telling him he could put Johnny in his place by fucking him. Barring one or two alphas, Gheorghe always goes for betas, and always men. He has a feeling being with Johnny Saxby day in and day out will lead to the other man under him one way or another.)

"Ruben, what you doing?"
Ruben nuzzles his nose on Niall's neck, inhaling him deep and humming in approval. The sound is so deep, Niall feels it reverberating through Ruben's chest pressed to his back.
"I'm enjoying my pretty house husband," he kisses Niall's neck.
His hands move down Niall's sides, long fingers digging into the space between his ribs, feeling the air moving under skin and muscle, deep and trembling. Moving lower to grip at his waist and down to his ass, kneading the soft muscle. Niall mewls with the touch, the rough feel of calloused fingers on his bare skin.
"So pretty and domesticated."
