Everything that happened after that has been predictable- Max becoming his new teammate, him and George falling out, crashing into each other, once, then twice, then three times in a row.
George even anticipated Toto losing his mind with rage.
He just didn’t expect him to be quite this mad.
Or. Max and George keep crashing into each other so Toto sends them on a mandatory two week holiday to Greece. It changes things.

It’s his sister’s wedding, not a redemption arc and definitely not an excuse to fix things with the best man who also happens to be his ex. The same ex who walked away when things got too good, and being mature is proven to be a hard thing for Max to do.
There’s one bed, one week, and one man he can’t seem to stop bickering with, or missing, depending on the hour. It feels suspiciously like fate with a sense of humor.
Between groomsmen activities, eye rolls, and a bachelor night that should’ve come with a warning label, he keeps telling himself he doesn’t want him back. But maybe he does.

"I just- God, I see his face and I just want to shower him with gifts you know? Clothes, cakes, books, anything. It's almost painful to know that I can't." He confessed, groaning running a hand through face. "I'm down. Bad."
"I didn't think that was up to question. May I suggest, instead of 'showering him with gifts', to start with one?"
